Back in my younger days I hated wearing neckties!! When I became a movie theater manager at 22 years old in had to wear ties all the time. I started wearing ties with bright colors and fancy patterns, and I received a lot of compliments!! Now, I feel incomplete without a necktie (and pocket square).

My added bonus suggestion: utilize pocket squares. It's come to the point that every time I put a suit jacket or blazer on, I always wear a pocket square too, they elevate the whole look a great deal without being stuffy. Easiest way is to match your pocket square to your shirt, like how OG does brilliantly, or experiment with some patterns and pops of color. My go-to folds are the presidential fold - the one OG is rocking - which works every time and is very professional, and the puff fold, which is more laid back and effortless. This was a random video that popped up in my feed. Looked at the Thumb, realized I hadn't seen this one and just watched it. Great vid, loved the styles. Could swear i'm seeing light blue vs that green color your saying so maybe its a lighter shade of green. Anyway a tieless look is a great look to rock and very well inbetween well dressed and still looking casual. You will still be more well dressed that 9.5/10 people around. As for collar stays with a nice plump collar i like the Slick Collar Adjustable Collar Shirt Collar as its just easy to wear with any shirt if its a problem with the shirt collar and easy to use on almost any shirt.
