UNDER 20
In that age group, most people are extremely casual and sometimes they're even outright sloppy so if you want to be dressed better than your peers and an age group you really don't have to do that much to stand out from the crowd. The basic idea for this age group is casual layering.
Definitely, skip the baseball cap, it makes you look immature. Instead, if you want to wear a hat, maybe consider a flat cap in the fall winter season. As layering is very important in your age group, I suggest you go with sweaters because they keep you warm in the winter, they add a little book to your build which easily comes off as muscles, and they keep you warm If you are up for a cardigan, you can even take it off if it's too hot and that makes it very flexible, casual but well-dressed.
MID 20s
If you’re in a sales position or if you're in a white-collar profession, you will definitely need a lot more suits than one. If you're not, I suggest to invest more in combinations. Maybe of a blazer would be a great first garment to start and overall, I suggest you check out our guide on the 10 clothing items that every man should have because that's the foundation of your wardrobe that will last you a lifetime and you'll get a lot of wear out of it because it's very versatile and flexible.
THE MID-20s or MID/LATE THIRTIES
A great wardrobe staple is probably Oxford shirt, especially with a button-down collar. It's something that you can still wear either casually or combined with a jacket or suit. Polo shirts are nice if you maybe want to play golf or hang out with your children on the weekend but they're not something you should wear to the office, not even on casual Fridays.
THE MID-40s TO ABOUT 65
Instead of using bolder colors to differentiate your outfit, I suggest to go with different textures and especially subtle patterns. You can go with window panes instead of solids, herringbones not just finer but bigger, maybe a classic Prince of Wales check that is larger in black and white that goes well with your gray hair. These are all things that can really help you develop an outfit that is very age appropriate yet very stylish.
65 AND UP
If you're 65 and up, you're likely retired or you're looking forward to retirement. You either spend your days on a golf course or hang out with friends playing cards, working at the woodshop, and at that stage of your life, the degree of formality goes down. Now is the time to add sweaters back into your wardrobe, maybe skip the blazer unless you really like to dress up, however, one thing I notice a lot is that men change their physique yet the Wardrobe remains the same and it sometimes makes them look quite dated.

I'm 16 and I love wearing suits, blazers, and just overall dressing older than I look. I think it makes me look more mature than I would otherwise be perceived at first glance. I would much rather wear a suit than casual wear even when I go to college I have worn a suit no reason I just wanted to. It felt great and I got compliments from everyone including the teacher. He said, "not many of the younger generations are willing to spend time looking good but you do and I think that will take you farther in life than just about anyone else."

Keep it up! I started wearing suits more or less everyday since I was 13. I worked in an antique store after school and on the weekends and would buy old ill fitting suits cheaply, no one ever bothered me about it really and all my friends wore casual clothes. I even did it in the ghetto (every one keeps saying they can't do it in their hood) I went into sales and now I'm 31 and I work for a major financial institution remotely as a sort of consigliere helping move along corporate credit card applications and early fulfillment even though I dropped out of school. It's like Jordan Belfort says " A suit can't close your deals for you but it can open doors that may be closed otherwise."

I'm 15 and I wear a jacket, black jeans in the same tone as my jacket, a black t-shirt and sneakers. Edit: I also wear a silver ring and use a silver pocketwatch. Edit2: Nowadays I wear white airforce ones or boots with blue jeans, a pullover, a scarf and depending on the temperatur a jacket, trenchcoat or a winter overcoat. I've switched from my pocket watch to one of my dress watches, my dive watch or my chronograph.

At that age it's truly irrelevant what you wear. At eighteen I was as oblivious to clothing as I've been until a month ago when I realised at my age I may get ready for a nice burial and so if that's unavoidable I may as well die in (a proper) style.

How’s that turning out for you friend? I feel similarly, and am finishing college now. I would suggest however, you tone down full suits, for sport jackets, a lot more fun variety, i buy tweed and other wool and patterned jackets at thrift stores all the time, easily paired with chinos or black jeans and a button down shirt or turtleneck. Cheers!

I live in Ohio and unless you are going to work in a major city, you don't wear a suit ever. Even lawyers take off their suits by 5 pm. You don't even wear suits to church unless you belong to a religion that demands it. Weddings and funerals depend upon the time and the formality of the religious group.

You should not look like someone who's doing other people's taxes when you're not old enough to do your taxes yourself. When you're under 20, dress casually, that's fine. This video is only relevant when you're 25 or older.

I live in Japan, where suits are still the norm for any white-collar job. (And the blue-collar ones have uniforms.) Problem is, most people wear them so dang sloppily, like they’re still rebelling against that school uniform they wore in their teens….

As we have always said, each to his own, and that is true for Review Brah as well as for anybody else. I said a teenager that looks like that is odd. The definition of odd is" different from what is usual or expected; strange." and I stand by that. In 2017 Review Brah's outfits are different from what is usual or expected for a person his age. That being said, it is admirable that he has found a style that works for him at such young age. We meant absolutely no disrespect.

Gentleman's Gazette Report of the Week is somewhat of a sensation among teenage and young adult viewers, so its rather funny that he gets a mention on such a mature channel, and also that you refer to him by his fan-dubbed nickname "ReviewBrah". Gentleman's Gazette Can you make a video on how to buy clothing on Ebay? Even after measuring my size ( was it done right?), I still haven't bought the right size suit and dress shirt. Especially international sizes are confusing. For instance I live in the Netherlands but bought a shirt from France through Ebay, yet it was still far to large. The suit was from the US. But was to large even when it was a size smaller from the local cheap department store(40 instead of 42). The suit was still to large from the department suit and I had to make it smaller at the tailor. Albeit, the material from the shirt and suit were good. Size and material problems came from buying US shoes. I bought cadet shoes to make a cheap buy. But the leather is bad and the mid and outsole are from PVC. So can make a video on this, please? To avoid making these mistakes. And still buy quality items on a small budget. Thanks in advance.

I'm a flatbed truck driver (28), and I find that Oxford shirts and slacks tend to work really well. Not only can some brands be rather durable, but they clear the common "long sleeves only" rule that many manufacturers have when in the loading areas. There's also the side benefit of being taken more seriously because you get confused for their supervisors.

I've worn suits for a while, had to stop when I was taking weight lifting as a class, and the suit was just too much hassle to get in and out of quickly. But as an 18 year old, I still love the classy style that suits and the right hat, and overcoat, can give you, especially during the holiday season. Seeing as how I don't really like my generation of people's beliefs or interests, I'm happy to alienate myself from them, as you say, if it means I show some class.

The important thing is to pay attention to dressing yourself now. When I was 19 I was all about the rebellious slouch look. Boy, do I wish I'd grown up a little and started dressing for whatever occasion I was going into. Starting with taking school clothes seriously. I know old people always tell you to do this. I think people forget this is the Gentleman's Guide on how to dress your age. Of course the majority of people would stick out quite a bit, and probably negatively, within their social/work groups if this is how they dressed on a daily basis. If you had a labor job and this is how you came and left from work your colleagues would probably chuckle a little bit. This guide isn't telling people how they should dress disregarding all other circumstances. It is telling people how to dress for their age if they want to look like a _Gentleman's Gazette_ . That might be relevant to _you_ a couple of times a year, but this guide isn't just made for _you_ , it's made for everybody

This mindset is a little skewed, since what the older generations wore isn't what the newer generations is going to wear. Hey, now I'm about the same age as knights were, I should put on my armor and walk around in public, I'm dressing my age so there should be no problem. Or a centurion armor, that would be cool to, I think I'm the same age as one. You trying to make a set definition for all generations? There isn't one, people are gonna wear what they wear, based on the time period we're in, and trying to dress like a stereotypical Italian gangster just isn't gonna cut it. You're 20 now, time to throw out all the clothes you bought when you were 19. You're 40, throw out all your clothes, it's time to dress like an oldtimer, nevermind others your age, you should wear the same 'age uniform' as other old people wore before you. Am I gonna get some more mature clothes in the future? Yes! But I'm not gonna dress up like Al Capone..

No offence but youre completely wrong with most of these points. You can dress stylishly without dressing like a preppy white boy from the 50s. To recommend baggy chinos and carteroids to under 20s is shocking advice. If your this age try for basics first and build around that. Get color blocking down to a tee with simple colours like dark jeans and white tops, some casual shoes like vans or chuck taylors. This can be an every day look. Neutrals are popping right now and you can get into distressing if you want. Most importantly, fit is everything. H&M, Levis, Nicce, GAP, MNML etc. are all popping rn

sn3192 Completely agree. The thing is, Raphael doesn't really talk about how to dress like a gentleman, he talks about how to dress in his own personal style - which is not the sole way to appear more like a gentleman (unless you wanna relive the 60'ies). I for instance can't stand most of the products from his Fort Belvedere whateveritis. They don't look old fashioned, they just look old to me, no real style or exquisiteness. The wallets looked outright cheap, would never consider them stylish or expensive. They might fit his personal style, but man oh man how personal that style is. If you want to look like a real gentleman, take a look at Daniel Craig (in his Bond movies or just personal life). He can pull off a casual gentlemanly style regardless of what the occasion is. He can make short sleeve shirts look good, he can pull off a vest, can wear the same watch regardless of the event, and he manages to look mature and refined - while also having that youthful expression and power. A lot of it is of course physique, but also how he blends clothing pieces in a way where he looks stylish and elegant, but always manages to stand out from the crowd in ways you don't notice at first glance. It's not by wearing some suit with a fancy color or material, or pants with a special shape. It's all in the tiniest details where he often breaks the rules, but he does it so effortlessly and in a minimalistic way that most people don't even see it, they just see him stand out without being able to point a finger at exactly what makes him stand out.

also for ur upperbody i would recommend to have some polo-shirts. These are espacially good, if u r more on the skinny side and normally couldnt wear T-shirts, because they are usually tighter on thesleve ends, wich gives the illusion of the shirt "bending" under ur muscles. of course u wont look like arnold schwarzenegger but at least u can wear something with short sleves without people thinking, that u just escaped Ausschwitz.

I also use a brown belt which goes really well with my shoes. Then, before I head out the door (after I’ve brushed my teeth) I use exactly 2 squirts of my Doir Suavage cologne and then comb my hair back with my hair gel. And I learned how to do all of this and found my entire style and morning routine from watching a lot of the Gentleman’s Gazette so thank you!

Hi Sven, I have a question for you, and I am sure I'm not alone on this one either. I am an early 20's professional, and at my new job, the dress code is "business casual." I see people around the office in jeans, sneakers, etc. I feel uncomfortable wearing a tie or jacket to the office as it is not the norm, or suit-style pants, as I don't want to stand out or feel like I am uppity among my peers. What can I do to fit in but look professional in an environment where the variance in accepted dress is so wide? I want to look professional and competent, but I don't want to stick out like a sore thumb, or ruffle any feathers, especially as a newer member of the office.

While i agree with most of the video I did have a question come up while watching. The question is for my personal use , I am only 24 years old but my outlook has always been that of an old soul. I tend to enjoy looking nice even when it is a very casual social event . I like to wear a shirt and tie with a vest , nice pants and leather shoes for that is my casual attire . I have always hated to wear anything that could be considered as modern casual attire. Would it be better to stay with my current attire model or go with the guide you have placed forward? I thank you for your time and attention for i know you are a busy gentleman and have much to do. Sincerely -- Kaleb E Abraham

Gentleman's gazette expanded since the last time i watched one of their videos. I wonder if they will create a branch in the future which will talk about women's outfit as professionally as they do for men's. I have recently changed my style to classic, and some videos helped me choose more fitting clothes for me (length of the trousers, matching up the patterns, the best fabric, etc) but this is as far as it will go, since the topics are about men's clothes. Not to mention dresses, high heels ... I love dresses, but nope, nobody explains dresses properly. They just tell you what's fashionable and that's it.
