The Backpack is the best way to carry weight for the body. I don't care what others think seeing one on me. There are barely any healthy shoes out there that support natural toe placement. @@quasimodo8959 It never ceases to amaze me how offended people can get by the opinion of others. Incredible. I wrote that backbacks with a suit is a bad look, why would I care if you're not "always wearing a suit"? It has nothing to do with the subject at hand, You're not always wearing a backpack either, are you? In fact, counterarguing with "I am not always wearing a suit" is a red herring argument and therefor a fallacy, since it is a useless piece of information. For your information: Even though I definitely get the impression you're young and probably in school (which is where a backpack is appropriate), in case you're a working man in the middle class: use your beloved nylon backpack, by all means. You don't care about classy looks and that is fine. Everyone does not have the same style, and Schneider from the video certainly isn't stopping you from doing it. He is giving you tips and he said backpacks makes you look like an overgrown schoolboy (which is not wrong) and you still use it, so what is the problem? Actually, why did you even watch a "style mistakes" video if you weren't prepared to change up your style? You just watched it hoping for validation or something? That is honestly pathetic.

I couldn't disagree more with your take on tie knots. The full Windsor is not too large if you tie it properly with the right tie (not too wide). By comparison, the half Windsor looks like a knot used by someone who doesn't regularly wear ties and doesn't know what they are doing. The FW also helps prevent the overly-long-tie problem. I have worn a tie almost every day since I was 12 and I know what I am talking about.
@dougmartin20072 жыл бұрын
I agree the Full Windsor does not deserve this guy's ire. Your points about it are good, however, the Half Windsor is also a good knot. The Half looks best with short collars that do not allow for a lot of width. I agree that it can look like a more casual knot, but that is part of the sprezzatura look.
@renaissancestatesman2 жыл бұрын
I have a large head. Pin head knots are best for pinhead people. I always choose a half Windsor at minimum. Three are also other fun, large knots like the Eldridge knot. He is a rule follower. No sense of flair. Safe.

I have an urgent question of etiquette: A childhood friend of mine recently bought a farm, where he grows crops and sells them. In other words, he has literally turned into a peasant. My question is this: Do I have to send him a formal note (written with my 2000$ fountain pen), informing him that he is no longer welcome at my mansion, or is it OK to have my stable boy fetch the hounds right away, the next time he shows his dirty sandals at the northern gate? Change the title to “19 Things a man should never wear in a Formal or Work setting,” then good video. However, there’s a place in anyone’s wardrobe for casual items, and a place for formal attire as well.

I'd say for a traditional look in a formal setting. This look will be very out of place in most modern work settings.

I’ve done some if not all of these at some point, but getting better as I learn more. The only point I might push back on (and only slightly) is the backpack issue. Yes, it’s bulky. Yes, it is far from elegant. But I live and commute in NYC, and I take my lunch with me. I don’t know of a briefcase big enough to accommodate a lunch bag.

I don't understand all the hate. I really liked these alpaga... whatever. They definitely look better and more comfortable than flipflops. Basically they are like canvas shoes (which I wear often), but without a sporty feel.

Great insights and advice. In fact I may go ahead and burn my one pair of cargo shorts. Another way that ive found to eliminate the issue of your tie protruding from the bottom of your waist coat is to wear a straight cut or scalloped hem, rather that the cut away style of coat.

@lukasj.navarro91634 жыл бұрын
I have been living in Florida for over 4 years now and I am perfectly fine dressing this way. There are suits that are lighter and perfect for hot days which I wear from March to June, sometimes I put on thin cotton sweaters instead of jackets during this period of time. Similarly, in the hottest days of summer (July to September), I just don't wear a jacket. Instead, I just put on a vest, a sweater vest, or if the climate is just too hot (like mid-July and early august) a polo shirt. Lastly, from November to February, I wear normal 3 piece suits, although I vastly prefer to put on a sweater vest instead of a normal vest from a 3 piece, that's just personal opinion though. Somewhere around December, it gets too cold because of the rain and everything so I wear turtlenecks with suits and coats. I also have a slim waterproof Trench Coat I wear without a jacket underneath when it is raining in hotter days. Never in the entire 4 years, I have been in Florida I have ever worn flip flops or cargo shorts. Even before I wore dapper clothing I never put on cargo shorts nor flip flops and I don't think I ever will. The human body can adjust itself to the environment fairly fast and efficiently so wearing thicker clothing in summer will develop a resistance to heat. If you, however, start wearing thinner and more cooler clothing, your body will develop a dependence on it and you won't be capable of wearing anything warmer. Also, drinking hot drinks in mid-summer will also help develop this resistance further. Just an insight from my personal experiences and a bit of scientific reasoning from why I can perfectly dress like this in Florida. I hope it helps in whatever it might.
