This is really good tutorial on drifting in sims. The low steering ratio tip is extremely helpful for beginners. 360 deg might be a bit too little. I find that 450 deg works decently well on the G27 for starters. G27 is a great wheel, but it's just too slow for drifting (it can't spin fast enough like the T500 does). Also in AC, try using 5 to 10% stability control and slow or green tarmac.

this is a really good idea. i didn't even think about this, that you can get a steering video and a video game driving simulator and practice on that if you can't afford a car just yet.

Hey bro, I've been a long time viewer of your channel and I've been a fan of sim racing forever. You inspired me to finally get a Thrustmaster T300 RS Alcantara Edition with T3PA pedals. I still need to get a gearbox and handbrake and more sims.

crossing your arms over is always a bad idea, its something you want to avoid as much as possible not something you try to do.

BTW when he says "GRAVITY" at 3:54 he really means the inertia, and momentum inertia- the property of matter which states that all objects will say inmotion and all objects at rest will stay at rest momentum- the product of mass and velocity just tryn to help! :D ^-^

Hi mate! It could be a usefull guide but it is full of mistakes, bad habbits and desinformation: - Do not cross your hands, it is a big NO. - Your seating position is horrible, bad way to show up proper seating position. You have your legs just as bad as you drive a truck. You push the pedals downwards instead of pushing it away from you. You can not drive a non servo brake like that. - Do not try to fake extra stupid quick 360' onto anyone. Not learning the proper stearing technique by cheating is not a solution and most ppl will struggle to even go straight, but it makes you drift easier for sure. - It is not gravity, but momentum and weight transfer is what snaps your car sideways when you enter a corner too quickly. - Lag in modern (even old) games are not 0.5s, but more like 0.05-0.1s or less. For example on a 144hz screen you can measure 2frame lag in lfs, and that is 2x0.008s - real cars use 900-1080' not 800-900, some racecars have quick steering and drift cars have a lot of steering lock, but still 3 complete turns of rotation. The lowest i have ever seen is in the ferrari 458 = 800' - You can use the handbrake, even professional drifers use it, there is no point deduction. - You did not cover how to get out of a drift properly. That is the most difficult part. - The easiest way to start drifing is just power over method. At the middle of the turn you power out and try to catch it. If you can do that, it is time for figure 8 to learn weight transfer under direction change.

i can only dream of my g27 to turn soo fast. i feel like my g27 cant follow if i just realease it. it countersteers too slow. and then its doesnt stop accuretly at a pint of holding drift. its spins to much too slow.
@jevnik5429 жыл бұрын
+broburga i trow it before letting it. but every time i trow it then it flies over that "sweat spot" where you hold the drift. its files over that point and coutersteers too much so car straightens out. no trowing wheel=spinout, trow wheel =instant grip

Wtf? The clutch kick is a well reckomended technique and you should never have your legs anywhere near straight! If you crash with straight legs then you can say hello to your shin bone :)
@doctorstruts9 жыл бұрын
That's right straight leg's is BAD and something to think about is that your leg should still not be straight when fully compressing clutch/brake/gas pedal! :) Also crossed arms are a no-no! E-brake is a good technique when having a car with good amount of power OR carrying much speed! ^^

Most Pros don't recommend using the Handbrake to enter unless you have a car that really needs it. In fact most actually recommend using the clutch instead. I think you have your information wrong. Also if you plan to ever translate this to real world experience do NOT make your wheel only 360 degrees.

There are several different ways to initiate a drift, E-brake isn't always the best option.
@omfgsomental8 жыл бұрын
From a real life perspective, you break to get car at a control speed, as you turn the weight of the car shifts, then you clutch to let go of the transmission so when you e-brake you can lock the brakes. The car will slide out and you countersteer because you've initiated the drift. You need to clutch though because the brakes have to lock, and if you lock the brakes without clutch in the motor stalls

@TheLinAndre9 жыл бұрын
does it feel more realistic to put the force feedback to 50 that you recommend or leave it on 100 as the software started off? its very light and the wheel spins really fast when i put it to 50, i never drifted before but real car is heavier when you turn at higher speed, while 50 turns without giving any struggle
