i have done this once or twice in low winds but never thought of connecting the leash to the kite, very nice and smart trick

great vid, short, to the point and you identify the things we might mess up. Only thing I'd suggest is try to reconnect the safety leash before pushing the kite away.

Drift launched this way many times. This video explains it very close to how I've done it. The only difference is I hold onto either the far right or left line then controlled release until about half the line is out. Then I let go and grab my bar and ready to pull safety if something happens.

If you put the bar on your chicken loop and then wrap them you won’t tangle

This is asking for a disaster. There is so much opportunity for the lines to get messed up. And if they can, they eventually will.

Very dangerous to realse 25m lines all at once, they can get tangled around themself easily. why don't you release the lines while the kite is drifting? this way there will be tension in the line and less possible tangles...

If you release the kite while the lines are still wrapped on the bar the kite can catch power. This can cause the lines to gain tension possibly ruining your bar (I've seen this happen) not to mention making your quick-release ineffective.
