I'm driving a Motorhome RV for the first time this weekend and so far this was the best tutorial video for me without doing so much prep, or taping mirrors etc. Very straightforward!

Great tips!. Also, be aware of what I call "cheaters. People who illegally or unsafely try to get around you instead of waiting patiently behind you. People who try to pass you on an on-ramp. Or people who try to scoot around you on your short side while you're waiting to make a wide turn.

Yes, those can be very annoying. You always have to be so alert when driving, especially when dealing with inconsiderate drivers. Thanks for the comment! - MJ

When you were changing lanes and you slowed down that will typically cause the car behind you to pull into the lane you want to go into. A better strategy is to always increase speed if you can before you change lanes, it helps to clear blind spots by moving cars that may be hiding in the blind spot back where they can be seen and you see the hole you are trying to fit into ahead of you.

Thank you so much... I'm a lone by myself new full time Rv'r. I drove big rigs when I was younger and I Had No Fear! Now I am dang... 64 and I know fear can get hold of me. I need to reiterate that it's not who I really am. Fear doesn't control me, it never has before, let it go Rae! So videos like yours are relevant to my freedom and I do so appreciate your time and knowledge. I can do anything with correct knowledge. Thank you again. From my heart.

Great video. I have a Diesel Pusher with cameras on the side and back. To help see my toad and backup, I installed a Type J Solar powered camera on the back license plate. Works great when backing up. Also, put one on the front plate so that I can see in front of me at ground level. You can buy a monitor that can show both cameras on a split screen or just one camera. Now, I have no blind spots.

We have a 33' class A. I love driving it. My husband tends to not leave enough space in front of him so I am constantly telling him to slow down and it makes me nervous. So we are both happy when I drive. I take my time and enjoy the drive. When it's slow bumper to bumper traffic I don't mind that either it gives you a little time to see a few things on the way. You guys have a wonderful channel.

The both of you are 100% Spot On with all of this! Great instructional. I wish I could get my wife to get behind the wheel of the Class A but if I show her this maybe she will be more inspired. The only comment I might make and it's surely not a dig is driver fatigue. Planning out your trips properly with rest days wisely interspersed. I can't tell you how many times I poorly planned a trip and ended up driving 10-12 hours a day being completely exhausted. That is 100% my fault but with these big vehicles especially flat towing behind is not smart especially with precious cargo inside and the other precious cargo driving their vehicles around you. Great job guys!

Great video as always. TPMS is a critical piece of safety equipment and very cheap insurance against tire blowouts. Luckily our fridge is self-locking so we don't have to worry about that. A lot of these tips hold true for hauling a trailer or 5th wheel, too. I found that my regulary day-to-day driving around large vehicles changed after we started RVing (giving them more room, being more patient with the ones who took their time, etc.). Did anyone else notice a change in their card driving habits?

I am so brand new it is sad. I am in the research part of purchasing my first motor home. I would like to ask you and the audience three questions: 1- Is there a difference driving a coach with and without a tag axle? 2- Is there a difference driving a coach that is 45 feet vs. 40 feet? 3- What additional details are there when towing a vehicle in an enclosed trailer? I could ask a lot more, but these are just about driving the coach. Thanks so much for all of your wisdom

Try driving a big rig through Brooklyn NY 🤣🤣 I've had to stop traffic and scream this truck aunt moving unless u give me space , I'll never drive through there every again.. but anyways my family , and I plan on living the RV life something we've wanted to do for a long time. Big ups to you too, I've had students get in my truck and didn't know half of what you two are sharing it nearly the same and I be wondering how did you get your CDL.. too all those out there becareful not all individuals in trucks are qualified companies just toss bodies in there trucks to get money, let them pass and keep and eye on them I literally just had a situation where a driver merged in my lane without any notice just pulled into my lane with his blinker on without giving space and time to merge upon further notice he had his sleeper curtain blocking his window and mirror which I called into his company with pictures my wife took of his recklessness couldn't took my myself,wife and kids life with his ignorance his safety department said he was fresh out of school so anyways be careful please.. and buckle up .

Awesome videos guys. I got my CDL back in 2011 and the instructor drilled in your head, CHECK YOUR MIRRORS over and over again. But I do have one question. How do you deal with merging traffic coming off an off ramp and you have vehicles in your left lane. In school they said to let the off ramp vehicle have the right away.

We have a 37 foot MH, and one of the biggest problems I have encountered is finding a gas pump I can get in and out of, particularly when I'm pulling a car. So far my only solution has been to never pass up an easy one even if you have plenty of fuel on board. Any suggestions?

Excellent PMI list! When tractor-trailer semis pass you on the interstate, do you get much wind sway pushing against the coach? My TT (without sway bars) can definitely be felt moving around in back. Thanks.
@EndlessRVing
@EndlessRVing 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. We have done suspension upgrades that have helped reduce sway to almost nothing. When we pulled our previous trailer it was crazy. Very exhausting to drive. Izzy

I’d like a class A, but driving one is a scary prospect. A road like 287 in NJ can be difficult. The right lane keeps “disappearing” as you head south from RT 80. . It’s tough in a car let alone a motor home.
@EndlessRVing

We drive 287 often and tow 24 feet behind our 37 foot trailer. Just keep your distance and it’s all good. Thanks for watching and the comment. Izzy

I havent driven on so the park brake is pushed in when on? Or you pull it out to turn it off. Start it with foot on brake get the brake off then put it in gear..right?

11:04 when you say that. do you mean braking is harder in a gas motorhome as opposed to a disel pusher? I'm looking at a gas motorhome rn that has the 8.1 and workhorse p30 chassis and during the test drive, one did indeed have to push the brake pedal slightly harder....
