I demonstrate how to drive this DC electric conversion with a clutch and gearbox. Then I hitch up a trailer and go for a drive.

You, sir, are an absolute legend! Great work. What’s the range and kilometres per kilowatt hour please if you’re able to find out.

man this is the type of electric vehicle I want. this whole "automatic" style isn't driving nor is it useful in my opinion. I want to be able disengage the drive train when need be in certain types of road conditions. brings me hope for the future of driving for me. thank you so much for sharing this.

Congratulations, seriously great job! I was really wondering about a couple things, like... curb weight? HP or kw output? Naught to 60 (miles) time? Also maybe the range you get out of 1 charge and time it tales to recharge... it's a really fascinating project you have there.

It's about 1200 kg now, max 70 kWh estimated power. I did the 1/8th mile in 12.377 seconds. Battery is about 35 kWh now, range about 140 km. I can charge it at about 15 km of range per hour. See my website for some curated pictures and ramblings: christopherwalkden.id.au/ For all the specs (and I mean all of them!) go to my forum post here: forums.aeva.asn.au/viewtopic.php?p=30688&sid=4bae9ed587a3f91a9e0295da04adbfe7#p30688

@@christopherwalkden maybe the noise is the motor and bearings as well as the gears. Just a thought

Try a thicker transmission oil to quieten the noise .love that brumby great job
@trentmorrison60742 ай бұрын
That or just add theblucas transmission aditive after doing a change. The origonal fluid is probably burnt from when the engine was still there.

I Really like what you have done here. Great little build. You were talking about a gearbox whine you could here. I could hear what sounded like a inner cv joint or a tailshaft uni joint when you first went onto the road with the wheels straight.
@christopherwalkden3 жыл бұрын
I didn't mention that noise, did I? I tried chasing it down a while ago, but it disappeared when I put it on a hoist. Both CV joints were replaced at that time (I was chasing a shudder), but we haven't touched the tailshaft. It is louder now than then, so perhaps it might show up if I got it back on a hoist now. The things that you hear when you don't have a Boxer fighting under the bonnet!
