@jswish777
@jswish777 8 жыл бұрын
Hey bud not sure if this matters but im 6'0/6'1 (184cm w/o shoes) and what really helped increase my vertical and dunk consistently was to do 5 sets of squats/deadlifts and 5 sets of medicine ball box jumps straight after each set. These exercises are great as well. Lastly, try to practice jumping and touch as high as you can above the rim + try to keep dunking to get comfortable with the motion. Basically, you just need to work on your weakness - if you can squat/deadlift heaps, focus on plyometrics and speed/quickness training. If you can't lift atleast 1.5x your bodyweight for 1 rep, try getting stronger by lifting more often.

Start by learning the approach, do weighted squats, deadlift... (any lower body strength exercise), calf raises whenever you can even in the shower if you don't have the time to, try to gain in mobility : never forget to stretch and basically just jump. The more you'll jump, the more you'll improve, but don't worry if it takes a lot of time.

Itl take time. But don't worry if you work hard, you'll be able to dunk in no time. You're still pretty young as well so as you get older, you'll naturally get stronger. It's pretty impressive that you can grab rim at 5'6. Not many people can do that. im abit older than you and I can honesty say these workouts have helped me gain overall strength and athleticism. Best of luck

Liam F-B I hate when people say stuff like this. It’s not about your height, it’s more about your Standing Reach. A 5’9 guy could have a higher standing reach than a 6’4 guy, making it easier for the 5’9 guy to dunk. Stop worrying about things that you aren’t, you should just keep working hard and be dedicated.
@ratkingvolleyball
@ratkingvolleyball 5 жыл бұрын
@@BossKing1243 you are stupid, a 5'9 person will never have a higher standing reach than a 6'4 person, unless their arms are down past their fucking knees. And I have a 39 inch vertical, and I am 5'9, and can almost dunk, so yeah, If I was 6'4 or 6'2 I could dunk easily, I know tons of people that are 6' and can touch rim, however they have barely any jumping ability.

My buddy Adam Folker has just released one of the biggest secrets he used to go from being a total nobody basketball player to a world-touring pro with a killer dunk. He also got the world's highest dunker Justin Darlington to share his secrets and it's fast becoming the leading jump program on the internet. They call it Vert Shock and guys are adding 9 - 15 inches to their jump in only a few weeks with it. Here's the link to the sales page: bit.ly/2IO8uq8 PS: It's worth checking out for the brain-frying dunks in the video alone.

I'm 6'6 and 15 years old I started dunking at 14, I got off clean dunks and everything, I just can't seem to get my 360 dunks off clean and it's frustrating man, I have a 36in vert, yes I said 36in...my approach to the rim is very one dimensional, like my approach is Left-Right and my dominant hand is right, so I don't really catch as much bodies as I would like to (dunking on people) I try approaching Right-Left but it's weird for me

we hear you bro. its a very common way to feel weird jumping when practicing a new take off. just keep grinding, putting in work and practice practice practice. it will become easier as time goes on. every year you get older your bounce will increase if you stay consistent.

Mariano Zuniga Don't get me wrong but theses guys are natural freaks, they're NBA players they're incredible athletes. I agree muscle brings explosion but my point is, the guys who made the video have too much upper body muscle, it adds too much weight for their size. I'm not saying it makes them less athletic I'm saying that if they were a bit lighter they would have more agility. Dunking ain't only about the vertical leap and explosiveness

Pixel 's any vertical jump coach really, but muscle will only weigh you down if you've built too much like if you're on steroids for example, Phil Heath can still grab rim but he's too big to dunk like he used to, but if you and me focus on building muscle and keeping fat to a minimum that won't negativity affect our vertical in the least bit

There are a few ideas for techniques for jumping higherDo Bulgarian split squatsPractice depth jumps- these are performed by stepping off a box, then exploding up immediately after landing on the groundFor basketball training start with a tennis ball, then move up to a softball, then a volleyball, then a youth-size basketball, then a standard one(I read these and the reasons they work on Enyeto Jump Plan website )
