when using the stencils for the side lower fins, use the line pattern first, then the open pattern over it, makes it alot easier to align

@@TheNeverendingProjectsList im thinking of getting a SLA 3d printer i havnt seen any videos on youtube using SLA for lures is there a reason?
@TheNeverendingProjectsList4 жыл бұрын
I have seen a few people use SLA printers for lures and the detail is amazing. I haven't really looked into them to much myself but from what I've seen they are lot more work. I hear the resin is messy to work with, it stinks, the prints have to be washed in alcohol, and then cured with UV light. I'm lazy so that's why to much effort for me. :) They are getting pretty reasonable (price wise) these days so I'm not going to say I'll never try one.... )

This was one of your best video series. I enjoy all of them but I really liked this one. My philosophy for replicating the bait uses less planes and more guide rails, but none the less I enjoyed the series quite a bit. Super informational and I really enjoyed watching the finishing/painting. As far as those figure 8 hook hangers go, how strong are they?
@TheNeverendingProjectsList3 жыл бұрын
I've only played around with guide rails a bit so I'm not too proficient with them but it's probably quicker I bet. As for the Figure 8 Hangers I haven't tested them to failure yet (one of these days I will) but I can't bet the line would probably break or the hooks straighten before the hanger failed. Plus I don't think any fish I would catch would cause them to come close to failing.
@FrugalFlyRodder2 жыл бұрын
I don't have a 3D printer... yet. Watching your video where you made stencils, I thought maybe a stencil with a flange extension would worked as a handle that could be hinged with both pieces. Then you could drop the lure in one stencil then squeeze and cover the other... production paint time would be decreased.
@TheNeverendingProjectsList2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that might work... I don't do production stuff but definitely worth a shot if someone wanted to try it.

I enjoyed your video! Beautiful! I don't get the thumbs down.
@TheNeverendingProjectsList3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Frank, As for the thumbs down... Maybe some people just didn't like the quality (these first videos had sound issues for sure), others think copying another lure is like stealing... yet there are tons of different manufactures that make the same lures (especially square bills like this design.) It's not like someone is going to do all the work it takes to make a 3D printed lure and sell them and some how hurt anyone's business hell you can buy blanks for 50 cents why go to all this trouble. Then there the people that just like to shit on anyone's work no matter what. I don't take it personal I just make these videos for fun and to help others no one is forced to watch them.... but Thanks to those that do.

The patterns for the two colors are just two simple sketches cut out of the stencil. If you look at this picture files.cults3d.com/uploaders/12934067/illustration-file/ee50f6cd-3624-461d-aabf-ca567a71faf1/SquareBillC-001_large.jpg the cut out parts demonstrate what those sketches would look like.

what glue did you use to assemble?
@TheNeverendingProjectsList4 жыл бұрын
See the 1:50 mark... I use CA (super glue) and accelerator to glue them together. The accelerator makes the job easier because once applied it forms an instant bond. So you just have to apply the glue hold the pieces together so they are even and then just add some accelerator and there's no worry about the two pieces moving while the glue dries because the bond is instant.
