It definitely is, but I would advise players that haven't completed the story to not use Legendary Blueprints, and instead disassemble only Epic and lower, save your Legendaries and if you don't have other blueprints, simply craft them - Essences are easy to get, much easier than Legendary Blueprints during story, in end game you get access to more Legendary Blueprints but still you will not always have a mission wich rewards one.

Great video, took a long time to learn and understand this concept. The hard part is when you don't get Quick or Free for 20+ rolls. All the rolling, rerolling, save scumming and switching characters and cards trying to hit it. Feels like such a waste of time with nothing to show for it. Then run out do a mission to reset the card pool and try again. Suddenly you've found yourself doing 1 mission an hour or two and it just really started burning me out on this game.

I can confirm this strat still works. One thing that tripped me up that I don't think was explained is that cards that come modded function similar to a card that is freshly modded. When you get a card that comes with a mod, it's first re-roll is predetermined.

Thanks for this. I' not going to lie, I did not optimize my rolls between heroes as much as you did so I might need to go back and optimize a bit but I am starting to get the hang of it. For the most part I was just clearing out my coils and then rolling and then picking the best result from each roll based on chance and counting the number of rolls. Once I got the result I wanted I would go back and craft a number of card close to that count and then go roll the last few out. Worked like a charm. I have to get more scientific with it they way you did here but I was still getting what I want without if being super grindy (somewhat). Still got to work on perfecting my technique but I am so not a math guy.

Appreciate the video so we will have a legendary seed and a rare seed appear in any number like yours is 9. Then instead of spending a lot rerolling just break down the legendary blueprint into common and keep counting until we get to the number that appears for the legendary seed. Like, stop rerolling at 7 then open the predetermined seed which Is 8 then the number 9 will be legendary. That's the whole concept right thank you

I really, REALLY rarely get a Quick or Free or 50% damage or one of the other most preferable Mods, even if I'm going in 12-15 seeds Mission after Mission I only got two or three of them. I found out a method very similar to this and have been trying to comment on every mod video I could to get the word out. Glad I wasn’t the only one. Some characters feel like they need very specific mods on specific card to work in heroic 3 but once you get them they’re so much fun. Loved theory crafting to maximize each Hero’s deck.☝️

This is great, but why does modding cards or modding anything has to be so complicated in a SINGLE player game? Devs do this all the time. Just let the player pick the mod directly. Like they actively don't want you to have fun or something. I hate this type of RNG leveling in solo games.

So I’m confused how to restart the progression sequence of the seed (not scrambling) in order to get the desired mod, like if I get another from the same pool. For example what you were saying, I want the get strength on KO but get counter on KO instead. So I pick that mod because it will guarantee I get the desired mod from the same pool when I encounter the seed again in the progression sequence. But how do I do that? Is this when I should be saving and reloading my game so my “seed progression” goes back to zero? So I can craft cards from there in the specific number the epic or legendary mod is sitting in? Like when do I save and reload to go back to the beginning vs progression up the seed?

You progress up the seed when you have the thing that you want. In the case here, what's happened is that once you reset your seed by doing a mission and going to the next day, you can start this again from zero. If you find an On KO Gain Counter, you have a pretty good shot that it'll be Strengthen instead for that Quick Swipe.

Because I’m not smart I want to make sure I got this right. Assuming I have the Materials to look ahead. I need to look and see how many time I need to roll mods on a card to get my desired mod. Then I need to reload the save and craft ,for example 2 cards (if it took 4 rolls to get my desired mod). Then roll once to get the predetermined mod and on the second roll I should have the desired mod. Does this sound correct? Or am I dumb? Lol

does crafting abilities to advance seeds only work on PC? I'm playing on PS5, and I'm doing what seems to be the same as what you show in your video and it's not advancing the seed trying to get 2 Heroism on Spider Sense. I checked it out and +2 Heroism is on the 6th roll I tried crafting 4 abilities, upgrade one then give ability, +2 Heroism is 6 rolls away still I tried crafting 5 abilities, +2 Heroism is still 6 rolls away I tried crafting 5 abilities, upgrade one and give it an ability, +2 Heroism is still 6 rolls away I tried crafting 4 abilities, upgrade both, gave both abilities, +2 Heroism is still 6 rolls away

Hi just a quick question. So we craft cards instead or rolling to go through the seeds. What if instead of crafting, we obtain cards through intel or gamma coil? Say 2 cards gained from intel is equivalent to crafting 2 cards? If thats the case, what about gamma coil rolls? would revealing 5 cards be equivalent to crafting 5 cards, or just choosing 2 cards from gamma coil is what counts? just wondering lmao Also, how do you know which mods are grouped together? like Move +1 and Free. Counter and Strenghtened etc

I answer your question at about 19:20 in the video. For whatever reason opening up coils doesn't advanced the seed. I do believe however they advance or scramble the seed when you AQUIRE them. So the moment the game generates the coils, it seems to advance the seed. Which would be in the morning after a rest or a mission. In terms of acquiring cards from Intel, I have not tested that as I don't generally send out heroes on OPs anymore. In terms of the grouping of mods. I do not have a clear list. But the knowledge was acquired by the seed sampling as shown in the video. Basically if the 7th roll gives you +1 move on one card, but Free on another. We now know that these 2 rolls are groups together for that particular type of seed or rarity. I suppose If I simply seed sampled across 10+ cards, I could indefinitely discover what all possible rolls for a particular seed rarity are. But I generally stick to the method of testing 10-20 seeds ahead on 2-3 cards, and simply end up seeing what I want. Then use card crafting to skip rolls. So I don't really NEED to know what the groupings are, if i'm rolling successfully to begin with. -Hope that helps!

You can use a card that has been modded already yes! IF the card hasn't been modded you just have to remember that you need ONE roll to uncover the hidden choice attached to the card. So if your 7th seed is the mod you want, you craft 5, so 6 can uncover and 7 can roll what you want! In terms of farming materials. I don't think a video is necessary. Generally my rule of thumb is to just farm Legendary blueprints, and credits missions. The amount of gamma coils that will pile up in your inventory. Just dismantling those cards will give you more than enough essences. If you happen to be really low on essenses, just run the missions that give 200 of each for a while. That should do the trick!

this helps a lot but it's still kind of confusing I got a new ghost rider straight to hell card wanted to try to get free on it 12 rolls in I got free so I tried what you said on another card I already had scarlet witch hex mark and 12 rolls in I got free on that one to so I made a total of 15 common cards just so I can have free on hex mark and straight to hell I don't how but you're method is kind of able to pass mods to other cards you want those mods on?

Based on your description. You said Free showed up 12 rolls in. That means your 12th seed is the "legendary seed". You then crafted 15 cards. Each card crafted advanced the seed by 1, a crafted card counts as a roll. So your 12th crafted card stole the "free" seed, and you continued to pass it 3 more seeds to 15. What you should have done was crafted 10 cards, the 11th seed was to uncover the pre-determined seed attached the the card, then the 12th would be the Free you were looking for. So you would have by passed 10 rolls worth of credits by crafting 10 cards. But you crafted too many. As mentioned in the video, make sure you don't have gamma coils piled up, it will bug out the ability to skip seeds by crafted cards.

You don’t see another card, because it will ruin the order if you do that. For example, if you found one card has your desired mod after 9 tries, go craft 7 cards right away. You only want to see another card after you get your desired mod on your first card because crafting cards push mod orders of all cards. If you go check on other cards before getting you wanted first card, you are not going to get the mod you want after 7th tries.

I've only started to play the game recently. I tried following the video but I just could not roll quick and free on my skill cards. I tried it with deadly grounds and other hero's skill cards, but so far I've not been successful. Am I doing something wrong or has the game mechanics changed?

blame the random number generator on that. many times, the quick or the free just wont pop up. it seems to change with each card after each day after you go on a mission. keep trying on other ability cards and see if that works too. yes, i know thats a lot of tedius work

Thank you for this video, that explains a lot about the whole modding system. But the thing that is missing in this video, for me: The whole basis of making use of those "rare/legendary" seeds is that you have to know which mods actually are "rare" or "legendary". In the video you mentioned Quick and Free as 2 legendary ones, but is there a list somewhere which mods are in which category? For example, in all my mod rolls, i ever only gotten "knockback" once on a card (Captain Marvels Knee Strike), i guess Knockback is really extremely rare and part of the "legendary" category?

Unfortunately I couldn't find a resource that shows the seed roll categories, but as I mentioned in the video. The Epic and Legendary seeds seem to have TINY roll pools compared to the more common ones. You mentioned knockback, which I believe is "rare" but it won't roll into something like Quick. I do know however FORCEFUL KNOCKBACK is in the same category as Quick. Therefor is you see forceful knockback, and take it. Next time it comes up it will likely roll Quick instead. This is why I mentioned doing 3-4 card samples, because if you say came across "knockback" on your 5th roll into the seed. You can test on 3 other cards and see what OTHER options roll in that same category. With enough testing, I suppose we could in fact write down all the potential roll options for a particular rarity. The important thing to take from the sampling of 3-4 cards, is that you will likely find at least 1 or 2 rare or legendary options in a seed number. From there you've locked in a golden choice for SOMETHING. What I can offer, is my knowledge of "red flags". When I come across things such as: +1 move, forceful knockback, those tend to roll into Free, Quick or 50% damage. When I see anything with 2 in front, such as gain 2 resist, apply 2 mark, etc.. I know those can roll into the amazing +2 heroism. But the pool seems to be slightly larger, so I just look for 2's and pray to the RNG gods when trying on a card I need 2 heroism on.

I guess this is better to do in the late game when you already have the cards and decks you want, right? I can't see the point on doing this early, especially when you don't have that many resources.

Nothing seems to advance the seed anymore except for rerolling the mods the normal way. Also the seed is fixed to the name of the card, not the individual card. Doing a mission and opening the coil seems to scramble the seed though.

Do you have coils stacked up? That causes issues

@@Channel5Gaming you need to make another video about re-rolling the mods because the developers seem to have fixed these with the Deadpool, Morbius and Venom DLC.

I was fine watching the video, but when you got to page 2 of the file, around 8:30, i got completely lost... anyway, i hoped it would be much easier. I dont need perfect rolls, I'll just spend ressources on many cards, load my save and spend only on the cards that got good rolls. The Rng isn't that random, its sequential.

if it took you 10 tries to get the mod ability you want on that card, reload your save file, craft 8 random ability cards from the forge, go back to the card you want modded, mod it twice and it should pop up then.

This game is actually kind of hard. At least too me. I never played strategy games like this before ever.
