What’s great about the Polymega is if you install the game from disc as opposed to playing from disc you’ll know if the disc is fully playable because the Polymega won’t install the game from disc if it isn’t

One time I almost bought a LightScribe CD burner. It was pretty cool because you could etch labels to the top of the disk. You could put really nice artwork for all your copied CD games.

Bought a lightscribe burner a few years back grabbed a few Sega Saturn games to burn thought it was cool to be able to add your own cover art just took awhile to do

I installed hundeds of burned cd games on the Polymega. The cd drive died. I had to replace it. Luckily similar slim cd drives as what's installed on the Polymega can still be found on Amazon.

Mine always have loud static on the audio tracks. Games play fine and they just scream static. I used verbatim discs and Sony and still got static

Sounds like your copy software is converting the audio tracks. You need a 1:1 copy program. I use CloneCD 👍

I find it funny that you are showing dvd burners on amazon as opposed to just recommending people use any old computer they have laying around as most old pcs have dvd burners built in.

I remember what you had to do to burn Sega Dreamcast discs you would either use Disc juggler or Alcohol 120 burner to burn your Dreamcast games

Burned games on normal cdr discs are not very good for the lens of the console. Professional print cds are better.. I used to do that on my Dreamcast and the lens started not to read very well. Im using MODE now so doesn't matter much but just keep that in mind. Cheers guys

Yeah, burnt discs for the DC used to make it work harder but I think that was partly due to how the genuine discs are pressed as opposed to being a burnt disc. Previous generations were more primitive in the CD layout so I don't think using a burnt CD will make much of a difference.

Will this by any chance work by burning previous gen games (NES, SNES, etc.) on disc and be recognized as well? I have a couple of repros that don't register on my Polymega and would like to just find a way to get the games to run somehow.

No unfortunately not. I have repros as well that dont work and am trying to find a way.. may have a solution soon so keep an eye out.

What is the advantage of playing on the Polymega or Analogue Duo compared to say @ docked Analogue Pocket or Odin Pro 2?

I wouldnt say there is an advantage at all, but a preference maybe.. and if you have original games those 2 systems are a way to use what you own in a collection. If you dont have original physical games I dont really recommend these devices to people.

That drive is actually not burning at 4x but it looks like it's 8.9x or 10x. Most modern drives won't do 4x!

I rather hack the system then burn CDs it’s free to hack and add the entire library as I did to my NES and Super Nintendo classic mini classic consoles I used to burn movies back in the days with dvd X copy and dvd next copy when the movies became blue Ray it became expensive 1 dvd r would cost $20 the dvd r you can buy a 100 pack for $40 so I’m done burning

There's really no point at all to burn games for systems like these. If you don't have the original disks, get an ODE/Flash device, or just emulate. This is really a waste of time. I get that it's another option, but come on.
