Don't forget to drain the remaining coolant via the 19 mm bolt on the right side of the engine block.

On one hand it's nice that the drain bolt is captive so you can't lose it, but on the other hand, it acts like a water fountain and splashes the coolant all over the place!

Guys. On very old plastic drain plug. If I happened to cap off the head due to fragile age. What ingenious solutions do you suggest to remove the remaining piece still attached?

grab with pliers and pull out

@@brianach1817 Ended up getting a removal bit , drilled the plastic plug from small to bigger size and applied the bit. Worked flawless.

Gloves are a good idea. Eye protection a better idea. Antifreeze splashing into your eyes is no bueno.

Colour of coolant doesn’t matter, as long as it meets MB 325.0 spec.

@@googpix540 Normally gold, but I've seen blue as well. Just make sure it fits Mercedes specs, which a lot of the green stuff does not.
