Arrive at the dealership. Do not go to the office. Walk around to look at some window stickers. If one of them has an "add-on" sticker, leave immediately. Do not waste your time!

I had to have this fight with day automotive Ford near Pittsburgh when we bought my wife's expedition. I kept saying, dude we live 2 and a half hours away from here, it's useless to me. But they kept insisting they couldn't get rid of it. We were getting up to leave and they magically changed their minds.

Whenever i see add on fees, i just take my business elsewhere. I dont even try. There are a million dealers out there
@kirkdunn137912 сағат бұрын
exactly, just sop communication immediately and move on......some spend way too much time trying to get one dealer to bend to their will, or judge buying based off that dealership......there are thousands of dealerships

Last month I purchased a Colorado with an addendum of $3000 in extras as described. The dealer had 30 on the lot. They wanted to move these 2024 units. The minute I baulked at the extra three grand, The sales manager dropped the cost. Got to keep the tint and LoJack. Thought there would be some catch one we got to the finance manager but nope. Ended up being a good deal. Got an LT with an MSRP of $38,xxx for $31,000 plus tax (19 percent off of MSRP). Also got 1.9 percent financing. That dealership has moved 28 Colorado's in the last three weeks.

I’m confident enough in my position I don’t need to lie. You take it off my deal or we’re done. The End. I bought my Lincoln in another state and shipped it because a local dealer refused to remove $2995 in BS.

I refuse to even pay msrp. My 24 camry se I got 6k+ otd off msrp. You can do it if you can create leverage and competition amongst them. Do not be afraid to drive or go somewhere a little further if it saves you thousands. Dealerships near me didn't budge to much but the 40 minute dealership from my place was willing to beat it and give me an additional 1,500 off. Be patient and don't rush into things. Ofc timing is important too I bought my car 3 days before the near year

Hey Jason thank you for your knowledge and willing to help out others not getting screwed over. Me and my sister are looking to get a truck or a Jeep Rubicon what can you help with to try and have them lower the price and not give me all these extra add-ons that I don’t really need on a vehicle is there anyway I could email you or even text you?
@Jason-Samko4 сағат бұрын
You can email me thru my website tbwpodcast.com. Best way to negotiate out of the add ons is to tell them you are not paying for them. If they say you have to go to another dealer. Sometimes it takes 4 or 5 dealers to get the right one. But while you are doing that you can also work them against each other price wise

Them 265/70/17s are a 31.5in tall tire....funny enough that's the OEM size on my Pro-4X 😂 The stock BFG 255/75/17 is a 32.1in tire
@TheKingOfInappropriateComments8 сағат бұрын
I have to disagree on this one. I refuse to pay for any add ons and I just won't do it. It's the whole principle of it. I've walked away from deals over that but had no trouble whatsoever of finding a dealership to take that all off. The last two new vehicles I bought, both had window tint installed, didn't charge for it, and the craziest thing is, I would have been willing to pay for that, had they even told me they did it. The past two vehicles had ceramic tint, 35%, and didn't even tell me that they did it let alone try to charge me for it. Where they got sticky was on some add on insurance policy bullcrap and I really put my foot down over that because I just couldn't find the value it it. Nor could they really articulate what it was. It wasn't gap insurance. By that point we were $300 away from making a deal on the truck and they folded. Just have to be persistent and ready to walk.

Window Tint: I would make the deal contingent on the dealer removing the window tint at no charge to me and subject to my inspection for any damage.

You have the misfortune to be in Southeast Toyota Distributor territory. They add things at the port that you can't delete. Maybe because I'm old and cranky, but if I didn't request it, I ain't paying for it. Even if you go to an order rather than allocation system, US makers in particular will structure packages so that to get one thing you want, they lard it up with unrelated items that you don't want.

dealer detailed a truck i went to look.. but because it sat on the lot for almost a year, the truck ended up looking nasty.. i told them to either redo the detail or take it off the price because i wasn't satisfied. they decided to take the price off.
@ericd16329 сағат бұрын
Never let a dealership detail your car. They're paying young guys minimum wage and don't give two shits what it looks like when they're done

It needs to be illegal for any dealer to add anything to the vehicle unless specifically requested by the customer. This should also include accessories on the sticker that say "Dealer installed."

So the strategy and lesson is to out lie the liars? 😅
@wyatt9256311 сағат бұрын
So the dealership 'automatically' installs these add-ons. Well AUTOMATICALLY take it off or don't charge me for it. Why would I pay for something I don't want!

Everything else is negotiable except for tax, registration, and tag fees. That is why each dealership has its own doc fee.
