If you ever pull another gen 3 SBC, consider switch the coils and brackets with the round body D585 coils. They give better firewall clearance in some vehicles and are considered the hottest production Chevy coil. Tons of them on the 5.3s, just mix and match in the yard.

Haha . I was in the same position a while back. Fortunately it was only 3 hours til closing. So I left with 1 buddy and left 2 guys with the engine after it was ready to be pulled. We grabbed food, and came back and we all ate together. Then WE took a shift sitting with it while the other guys went out to the parking lot and rested in the AC. Then we just made sure we were the last ones out and the first ones back the next day. Grabbed that motor for almost half price!

Just seeing this post do you have doors for the car if you do put the doors on their lineup the body somewhat and then they enter pillars going to have to put some kind of welding rods in there and stuff make sure it's all structure then start cutting cuz if you cut without those doors on there and doors and gonna line up unless you will later do step-by-step but it's possible

I’m curious what the junkyard charged for that motor? I’m trying to sell my rusting out Escalade with a 6.0 engine and they offered me $600 for the whole truck.

@@rustyknucklesgarage6145 you’re one day late. The brake line rusted out and it was stuck at the shop. I ended up selling to a junkyard for $350 bucks. I didn’t try to negotiate just because I didn’t want to pay to tow a non driving car back home.
