JR I was in the service 16 years, and gave, and received lots of training, the standard instructor intro was that to preform this task is a way not the way, meaning this is the way I'm doing it, and it will work sooo when you do it do it so the end result is the same as mine. Drive on Brother, it's your time spend it like you like. Thanks for another great video.

Great video, cutting the frame is the way to go, makes life much easier. With the shape of the front fender I would have probably hackzalled them off, but that is just me. The only additional piece I remove is the front bumper. It is only a couple of bolts and lets you "walk in" to the front of the engine much easier. When you get older, you want to lean less. Again, very informative. Battery powered tools are a game changer.

Just slew an Envoy yesterday and the frame cutting method would work for anything similar. A couch is a glue trap for the unmotivated. Thanks for the excellent video. Self and bro used it yesterday and will harvest another drivetrain tomorrow. Cutting frames is easy and if you slay a pickup truck you own it's also easy to bring the rails together then weld on a Bulldog hitch mount plate (or whatever) and have a handy trailer. They're easy to sell too and helped pay for many of my projects A cut off bare rear frame is handy for storing truck beds of any make and to hold beds for painting off the truck. BTW the salvage yard I frequent hands out cheap recip blades to their own parts pullers but rations their Diablo blades which are worth every penny. I buy them by the pack for the same reasons I don't by toilet paper by the sheet. 9" is fine for frame rails. We've managed to remove engines using one or two Diablos on a good day. We bring: Cordless impacts large, small and extended. Just bought a DCF 900 DeWalt and if it could f*** and do housework I'd marry it. Recip saw (with spare in the truck we've not needed but interruptions mean someone else might get our target engine. Just bought a DCS389B DeWalt and we leave the Milwaukee in the truck. It slices frame tubing laughing all the way. (Much love for my Milwaukees and it will be great to see their response. Tool wars rock.) Small bolt cutters for control cables etc. 1/2" drive extensions and a bit for the socket head style converter bolts. (3/8" drive extensions wrap up like torsion bars under heavy loads). Serrated knives for hoses. Ginsus from yard sales work well and I use a Cold Steel Talwar which works great. Pry bars long and short.

"Wish in one hand and shit in the other. See which one fills up first" Seriously though. A lot of these backwoods places have some cool shit. And for hot-rodding, the LS is about the greatest thing ever. From a dollar to performance perspective, it's impossible to beat the LS based engines. LM7 longblock with harness, fuse box and a junk 4l60 for $350? That's where it's at. So many people buy complete engines and just expect the wrenching to just fall into place. At my local hickville track, people regularly turn 8000+ RPM on junkyard SBE 5.3s.

"I can only do so much to remove your excuses" -- I swear to god, I try to relay this point to my friends and family who are perplexed at the opportunities I 'come across'. They can't conceptualize the idea that I take calculated risks and put myself into positions to receive blessings because I visualize and then *take action*. They expect things to just come to them, but it's the people who put in the work who increase their chances of receiving said blessings.

Hey JR that process you performed to pull that LS would work just the same on a 2010 Yukon eh? Wanna pull an aluminum 5.3 tomorrow morning and this seems to be the easiest and quickest way to do it.

Just seen this video! Your pick and pulls must be very laxed on their rules!! Cutting a frame and driveshaft here, means you just bought them too!! However, drive on!

.... you also destroyed the drivesshaft and crossmember... doubt you paid for those. Spent more time cutting then just taking it out properly lol.

I will add an I wish for my locale lol. I wish they would sell and be worth my while. Too much availability means giveaway pricing. Otherwise I would be pulling every damn 6 liter I find lol.
