For anyone who doesn't have a long enough extension for the socket wrench to reach down to the battery clip, you can remove the engine filter lid by loosening the metal brace holding the corrugated tube with either a screwdriver or 10 mm wrench and popping open the 2 plastic clips holding the filter lid down. Hope this helps. Great video, BTW. Very helpful.

Hi Ben, I would suggest using this website. costco.interstatebatteries.com/ You would need a Battery of H6 Size. I would recommend your local Walmart/Costco. is it ok If I used different battery? What can be the effects?
@VirarAutomotive4 жыл бұрын
I assume you mean a different brand battery, that's fine. If you mean a different battery altogether, there are couple things that come to mind right away 1) every battery has a CCA (cold cranking amps) rating, basically that's how they rate the battery power. If the replacement one you get had lower CCA than the existing one, it may cause starting problems, particularly in winter when the engine requires a lot more power to start and when due to cold temperatures the battery too can only supply lesser power. 2) if the battery shape is different from the existing one, it may cause fitment issues. That battery housing there is very snug, anything bigger may not fit.
@Inframe944 жыл бұрын
@@VirarAutomotive the present one is a bit smaller than the previous one. Now I'm using 560 CCA. Does it can effect the engine or other stuff that causes damage to other parts.
@VirarAutomotive4 жыл бұрын
I can't think of any reason why it would cause damage to engine parts. Like I said, if the new battery is underpowered it may just give problems while starting the car, particularly during the winter. The battery replacements I am finding online are rated for 650-750 CCA. So maybe the 560 CCA battery may be okay, maybe a little underpowered for starting during extreme cold weather. And ofcourse whatever replacement battery you get should be 12V or else nothing in the car will work.

@VirarAutomotive2 жыл бұрын
Hmmm. That's odd. One thing you could try is to disconnect the battery negative terminal, wait for 5-10 mins and then reconnect it. That should reset all the systems. If that doesn't work then it may just be that the hood sensor is malfunctioning.

How do I kno I won't get electrocuted??
@VirarAutomotive3 жыл бұрын
Good question. Make sure your hands are dry when you are attempting this. The cars electronic system/battery voltage is 12V. Our dry hands have more than enough resistance to prevent a 12V current from passing through and thus getting electrocuted. If the hands are dry the resistance in out hands drops significantly and you may feel a current passing through the hands. In any scenario, it comes down to the resistance and the system voltage. Hopefully this helps.

The batteries for 2018 Hyundai are kind of pricey (around $200). Are any way cheaper battery that can do the job?

Try Walmart or Costco. Much cheaper and actually better (last longer and better warranty), in US you can get it Walmart for $100, same for Costco. Canada for about $120-130 CAD. I have replaced batteries with Walmart/Costco batteries and no problems whatsoever.

@@mhadvertising3491 Hi yes. I noticed that as well. Walmart's battery finder recommends the AGM battery. But if you go in store and use the battery finder there, in the battery aisle, you will find a couple more options., cheaper ones, for regular type batteries.
