My Elantra 2017 had the door latch issue on the passenger side. Bought the assembly from Aliexpress (USD30) replaced and fixed :)

The factory machining of leaving debris in the oil valleys was definitely fixed but the piston rings in conjunction with the GDI system notorious with Hyundai still has problems. I've seen the 2017-2020 generation Hyundai Elantra or any Hyundai during that time that isn't the SmartStreamG series.

I have this car, 2017. 115k miles, I have the door latch issue, Hyundai extended the warranty on that to 10 years. had an evap leak a few years ago, and recently a turbo bypass valve went bad. otherwise, very reliable. I can see it going well past 200k. Do these cars have the problems with carbon build-up that other GDI engines have?

Just replaced the door latch actuator on a 2022 Kona lol

It’s kinda iffy including the 2020 in this batch because it’s the first year of the CVT transmission. But I guess the body style is consistent with the earlier models, so I can see why it was included.

I have an issue with check AEB and check smart high beam system. Anyone else? Car also randomly just cuts out and seems to burn through oil, Hyundai says there is no problem though!

Question, we just paid 9k to get our elantras engine replaced 2 days later the engine overheats. We took it back they said one of the hoses was loose and the coolant was leaking out. So they said they fixed it ran all sorts tests and everything is good. Well 1 week later then engine has overheated again. My husband is on side of road waiting for a tow. I am absolutely angry with Hyundai. What do you think it is?

Thank god i m having this car for 7 years now..and never had any annoying issues till now..there were problems caused by rats but never had any issues..yes it may not be same for all but its just my personal experience..recently the front window is not working but im sure thats bcoz of water issue..yes there is one problem thats there from 2 years and thats the infotainment screen not working most of the time..which i never replaced as it costs a lot…
