I used to do the LCO method but my hair would be so dry then I tried the LOC method and it still wasn't that great, but now I kinda made my own up and it's like LOLC. This is when I wash my hair and its already damp(LIQUID/WATER). Then I apply OIL to lock it in. Then a LEAVE-IN and I use the LottaBody curl and style milk, followed my CREAM which is the Cantu curling cream. This works BEST because every time I wash my hair, whether its with sulfate-free shampoo or As I am cowash, it is always dry and strange feeling. Hopefully that helps somebody who has low-porosity hair like me too. I've been natural for a year and I just got my regimen on lock! :) (BTW JEALOUS OF YOUR PUFF)

I use the LCG method. The liquid/leave in is Shea Moisture Curl and style milk. Followed by Shea M. curl enhancing smoothie as my cream. And finally grease (mango butter). Yes... you read right ladies. I use grease and my hair stays moisturized longer. My low po hair needs something to ZAP that moisture in place!

@lydieguercin68298 жыл бұрын
+Kinky Koily Kayla yes! When I first went natural it seemed like everyone was telling me no petroleum, mineral oil, and co-wash weekly! Those methods don't work for me. Once I cut out Co washing (my scalp was soo itchy) and added grease to ZAP in moisture hair stays soft longer. I also have less breakage, and every wash I either blow dry or put my medium twists in rollers over night (depends on my mood). Keep doing what works for you ladies :D

I love how this is for all hair types. I am wavy, almost curly, some days as good as curly, and I love this video. Thank you. :D I need to weekly wash, for sure. My mom has 1b/c hair, pretty straight and she can go 3weeks to a month without even sebum building up on her. She usually needs to wash because of product build-up (hairspray). I love the LCO method. Lately what has been doing wonders for me is the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie + gel + serum. It is truly curl enhancing, because I normally am 2b/c and this makes me 2c/3a! I love this stuff!

The LOC method works great when you need a lot of moisture when you use it in a LOCO form. This form works only when your first oil is a moisturizing and not sealing oil such as coconut oil and your last oil is a sealing oil such as olive or black castor oil.

I've known for a while now that I have low porosity hair, but I didn't know how to care for it like I should. My hair feels soft, but not for long, and I experience little breakage. For the most part, I think I was following your tips pretty well, but I would flip flop a lot on them. I also wash my hair twice a week, or every 3 or 4 days, due to exercising a lot. I will clarify on first wash for the week, and then just use a moisturizing wash the second time during the week. For the past year, I've been doing the CLO method and it made me hair feel a lot softer and light weight, but I would still experience a bit of breakage while detangling, and my hair would feel a bit dry by the end of the day (I had to moisturize every day). Your videos have been very helpful and I will try the LCO method like you've suggested.

So I just did my big chop about 2 months ago, and I've started using Coconut Oil in my wash-in go routine, and my hair has been shedding alot. I literally wash my hair with conditioner everyday, put in leave-in conditioner, coconut oil, then argan oil mousse. Help is definitely wanted to stop my hair from shedding.
@ElectraFresh678 жыл бұрын
It could be your hair is sensitive to coconut oil, maybe try cutting it of your routine for a bit? I know that the KZbinr Naptural85 had the same problems with coconut oil that you described. She has now cut out coconut oil completely from her routine.
@maryapatterson8 жыл бұрын
Kelsey George I'm no expert but do you think you maybe washing your hair too often?
@brionasmart8 жыл бұрын
I feel like coconut oil isn't for you, it wasn't for me, it literally does nothing to my hair but help with detangling a little but it did more harm than good, over conditioner your hair exits, it could weaken your hair and cause excess shedding, make sure you incorporate protein at least once a month, it could be light protein, and try not to manipulate your hair as much, seems like you do because you wash it everyday, you need sulfate to throughly cleanse you really hair from all of that conditioner build up.
@brionasmart8 жыл бұрын
And try washing your hair once a week or r every two weeks instead of everyday
@iamkellij8 жыл бұрын
Kelsey George your hair could be telling you, that u need a protein pick me up. I'm protein sensitive to an extent. My hair still needs protein even though I'm low porosity. Try the aphogee 2 min treatment. U can buy the pack instead of the bottle for $3 from Sally's. of course with curly hair 2 mins isn't enough so I leave in for 15min. Also try a different oil maybe argan, jojoba or this oil from vitamin shoppe with avocado and vitamin e mix is great. And most importantly shampoo. You scalp could be clogged up so it can't hold on to hair for longer period of times.

I have that Argan oil leave in treatment or something like that.... where you shampoo then after you wash it out you make sure your hair is damp then put it in and leave it in for 5 mins or less... then wash it out and it makes your hair soft and all. For me, I believe it makes my hair feel oily idk...
