@Dimitry Volfson - The trans fat in nature is called CLA and it is very healthy. Grass fed beef is higher in CLA and is treasured for it. It is different from the trans fat in hydrogenated products.

Have met my weight loss goal - 30 lbs. over a few months on keto. Love nuts, butter, mayo, heavy cream, coconut cream, only eat seafood for animal protein, avocados, lots of veggies, eggs, dark chocolate, no sugar of any kind, no processed foods, no more grains or high starchy foods, luckily don’t like alcohol at all. This is the easiest food plan for me so far. I do intermittent fasting, too, because I’m just not hungry…and no cravings. I love macadamia nuts but they are too pricey. But love walnuts. I happen love raw cashews. I add my own salt and spray oil. BUT it has not interfered with my weight loss. Peanut butter is my joy…sugar fee from TJ’s. I Just always make sure I’m under 50 carbs a day. TY Dr. Ekberg. I send all my friends to you. I feel so light and slim and have no problem sticking with this actually yummy food plan.

I enjoy your videos. You don't talk fast plus you talk clearly and I find the videos relaxing and understandable. Over the last 4 weeks I have transitioned into low carb and I doubt I'd ever go back to carbs this time. I'm 68 and the last 6 months I put on about 25 pounds, 20 of which I've already lost. I've been doing mostly OMAD since Sept 12, 2017 with 4 weeks of recent ADF. LC is definitely a good addition to my IF lifestyle. I hate to think of what all the fruit was doing to me. I was addicted to it, and it wasn't worth all the headache it put into my life.

Your explanations are so much easier to understand than most other videos. I love those same nuts raw. But how much is too much? I would eat handfuls of Macadamia Pecans or Walnuts. What about Almonds? I love those too.
@drekberg5 жыл бұрын
The main thing about eating too many nuts is that they are mostly Omega 6s, and you want to balance your Omega6 to Omega3. Which is primarily fish and flax.
@markgrisham74375 жыл бұрын
Almonds are fine. Generally, if nuts trigger you to overeat (I don't know what "handfuls" means in your case), it's probably best to have them only once a week or so as a treat. Otherwise they might get in the way of your goals. Also, if you eat nuts often, be sure to include some fatty fish in your diet, as Dr. Ekberg has already pointed out.

I have to take issue with what you say about nuts, ie, eating them raw. Nuts are high in phytic acid which will block calcium/magnesium to your bones and especially your teeth. Lots of cavities possible. The phytic acid can be mitigated by soaking, and dehydrating or heating to destroy this anti-nutrient. Weston A. Price Foundation has done a lot of research on this, and advocates restricting nuts if you have cavities or other dental issues.

Veronique Dusabe I also want to know why when fasting specially women get insomnia. I’ve asked in lots of channels and few have answered. The answer is that the body is healing and there for body doesn’t need to sleep more. But my thought of thinking is that sleeping is very restorative so it doesn’t make sense. I personally think that the body is receiving diet change as a threat to survival. So maybe back off and ease into whatever you’re doing. I don’t know 🤷🏼♀️. Anyone else thinks or knows something?
@humanfamilymember5 жыл бұрын
Veronique Dusabe It may be because of eating too little carbohydrates. Your body needs complex carbohydrates (not simple sugar) to make melatonin, so you can sleep soundly at night and wake fresh and ready the next day. Eat small amounts of carbohydrates, and eat them towards the end of the day, to coincide with your bedtime. Another fun fact: You need carbohydrates to make tears.

I had hoped that you would have a healthy oil recipe for making mayonnaise and hollandaise sauce in your description notes. When you first started you were kind of geeky, but now you've become cool. I'm not sure whether it's my perception or whether you really have become cool. 🤔 If you haven't become cool then maybe I have a problem. 🙃
