Hi CG Geek. Really a nice tutorial. It helps a lot for the beginners. I really need to share this to you. When you tried to animate the opacity of the strip. You selected the actual clip. If you are using any "effect strips" you can hide your real clip just by pressing"h". If you really want to animate the opacity, then you can select the effect strip rather than the real clip. It will helps a lot for animation. Also you can snap your footage to the cursor just by selecting the clip and pressing "shift s". Remember you can snap only the real clip not the "effect strips"

missed a few big things like meta strips (think groups or nested sequences) and some of the other nice controls that you get with each strip natively - like you don't have to add an effect for contrast or color balance, it's under the n-panel. So yeah it's super weird, not very convenient, but certainly workable to use blender as a video editor. ps. always verify your frame rate before bringing in footage; while in blender you can change the fps on the fly, it affects your footage in a weird way when changed

I always like the way you walk through a tutorial, and how you repeat the hot keys that you use. I couldn't change the Cache, in my user preferences, and I didn't get the display where I moved the strip to create the transitions, as you did in the video. I still think that you are pretty good instructor overall, I have definitely learned a lot from watching you.

About the last part, did you ever heard of the add-on "VSE transform tool" made by Kgeogeo and I ? It's used to operate in the VSE with the same comand used in the 3D View including scale, grab, rotate (including snap and operation along axis), 2d cursor, keyframe shortcut and selection possible at the VSE preview area.

Actually @10:02 saying the transition doesnt work with the speed modifier effects strip is not correct.. it DOES .. work with ANY effects strip .. but you need to select the effects strip and NOT the original source clip .. Because once you apply an effects strip blender essentially copies the original clip to the effects strip .. it now references the effects strip as the original source movie clip.. The procedure is to MUTE/HIDE (H) the original source strip after applying the effects strip to it .. and then apply in the normal method to your new transition in this case the black to cross to the Speed modifier effects strip..

☺ I'm fairly new to using Blender, and I've noticed that when I add my footage it'll separate the video's audio from the video itself. Is there a way I can join these two back together, or does this only happen with certain file types? (NOTE: The footage I added was an MP4) ☺

17:06 How did you move multiple items? After selecting them all with "B," right click only moves one item for me. One stumbling block I had was Blender's preview window played the video at 24 fps when the video was originally recorded at 60 fps. The audio and the video Strips weren't the same length; the audio was the correct speed, but the video was in slow motion. Turns out the frame rate setting in Blender's renderer determines a video's frame rate when imported. So let's fix this... but first we should talk about managing Blender's panels. (Shame on CG Geek for not explaining panels) The panels that divide Blender's screen into different interfaces are called Editor panels. These panels are a modular system. You can add, resize, switch the contents of, and remove Editor panels. Resizing is easy enough to figure out. To split in new panels, left click and drag the lower left or upper right corner of an existing panel. To remove a panel, drag the corner of a neighboring panel into the one you wish to remove. The toolbar on the top or bottom of a panel is called the panel's Header. On the far left of the Header is a button to switch between major tool suites (Editors). Hover over this button to see which tool suite the panel is currently showing. Other buttons in the Header (typically the dark gray buttons) let you switch between tools or interfaces associated with that Editor. SO... Split in a new panel and switch to the Properties Editor. Click the SLR camera button to view the Renderer's settings. Now, under the Dimensions category, you'll find a button labeled Frame Rate. Set this to the frame rate of the video(s) you want to import. Now import the video(s), close the Properties panel, and you're golden. If you're importing videos of different frame rates, you'll have to change the frame rate of the Renderer for each one, and if they are to be part of a single video in the end, you'll have to do some magic with the Speed Control Effect Strip to make them look the correct speed in the final video.

@mindgaimz85038 жыл бұрын
+G3N Karambit I had the same problem. Below where you start and stop the movie to watch it, it's 3 number. First it says start. That is default is 1 and leave it there, if you don't want to start the video like 5 sec in. The second is End. It's how many frames it will show max. The maximum frames are 300000, so i usually put it at 100000. The default is 250, which means that the video will restart after 250 frames. The third is what frame you are on now. Hope this helped
