Love your videos. I also wondered about using plastic tumblers. Question what about condensation? Will that do anything to the epoxy? Thanks
@LittleLeeandRose5 жыл бұрын
val phil Nope! The condensation is just on the outside. Water on the outside doesn’t mess with epoxy (luckily or this wouldn’t work at all because you wouldn’t be able to wash it. If water gets behind the epoxy it’s because there wasn’t a good seal between the epoxy and cup. But if that’s the case it’s doomed regardless because you can’t wash it or get it wet at all

Is it true at applying epoxy to plastic makes it toxic? I read this in another group post. They recommended not to use epoxy on the .99 cent water bottles from Walmart. TIA
@NamelessGrace5 жыл бұрын
Sandra Ruiz the concern is that the heat that is produced by the epoxy will cause the plastic to leach toxic chemicals. This is the same as when you microwave plastic. I would definitely use BPA free plastics if you do this. Again though, if you microwave food in plastic containers the danger is the same, so it’s up to you what you feel comfortable with.

I have found plastic bottles just like this one at the dollar store but they are not hard you can squeeze and flex the side of the bottle. If dropped or squeezed will the epoxy crack and break off? Or does it reinforce the plastic so you can no longer squeeze and bend the sides in?

B Pratt all epoxies cups need to be treated like glass cups. If you drop it it will break. If you squeeze it hard it will break , just like a wine glass would
@bp45485 жыл бұрын
LittleLee and Rose Thank you, ma’am. I didn’t know if the epoxy would reinforce the plastic enough or not. Do you think it is hard enough for small hands(4 to 6 year olds)?
