Hi Thanks for this great video. I have a query. When we multiply density 22 x 0.125 thickness= we get 4.73Kn/m2 as the answer. So for the Force when you multiply 4.73 kn/m2 x height 1.65m, should we not get Force =7.8 kN/m?

Great info guys! Thanks for the video. Please can you do a video for some tips on loft conversions that would be great 👍

Hi, this is great video, but I have a question regarding the figure for design permanent load if F= 22*0.215=4.73*1.65 = 7.8KN so in this calculation (I think F is the self weight of wall if I am not wrong), while we don't know the thickness of wall then how can we calculate the self weight of wall or what is the 0.215m in the above calculation i mean 0.215m is the wall thickness???

Masonry can look different with all patterns, but how is the stability affected and why.

You've analyzed solid walls. What about cavity walls?

Just a quick question. How have you gone from 7.1 N/mm2 to 7100 kn by x 1000? If you times by 1000 only doesn’t that become 7.1 kn/mm2? Or am I forgetting some basic conversion?

One N/sq mm is equal to 1000 kN/sq m. To convert N/sq mm to kN/sq m, multiply the N/sq mm value by 1000.
