For anyone in need of a very gentle compeltely natural exfoliator, I use oats mixed with water, it is sooo gentle, yet still does the job at least for me (oily/combination skin prone to hormonal acne on my chin are) after other physical exfoliators really dried my skin out likr crazy! I use the oat stuff 2 to 4 or 5 times a week. In the stores here one can also choose between soft grain kinda oats and such that have a kind of harder texture, so I can evem vary how intense the exfoliation should be. Just thought I would share this tip, bc it really was a kind of game changer for me when I discovered it😊

Actually skin can adjust its pH into normal by itself but you have to wait like 15 minutes 😅. Then after put chemical exfoliator, you need to balance the pH again so your skin isn't over-exfoliated. It exfoliating ability is 6 percent more than salicylic acid. It's gentler and is effective at a pH of 5.5 . There are no clinical studies showing one AHA better than the other.

Came here for advice on the quantity to use with a chemical exfoliant (currently trying out Paula's choice black bottle 2% BHA). But I'm still a bit confused. I mean, I excluded cotton pads when I saw how much product I wasted with them, so I rather use my clean fingers, and then wash them again after application since idk if it may damage them or not. Meaning, I'm not sure if the quantity you use, would be the same without a cotton pad. And, instructions are unclear to me as it's written "apply small quantity" on the product, but, how much is a small quantity exactly ? Is it like 2 to 5 drops, or 6 to 10 drops ? Or something in between ? Or definitely more and I'm being crazy ? I just don't want to put too much of it... Any help ?

I use chemical sunscreen after exfoliating ( I use Kale from Krave ) and it feel sting and burn. Is it because I’m allergic to ingredients in chemical sunscreen or what?

I guess on the subject of chemical exfoliants, do you have any experience/advice with retin-a? I see a lot of female vloggers (especially those of a certain...maturity) who use it, but rarely see men talk about it.

but each exfoliator product is different, we have aha/bha that are like 2% and this one that are 7 % . So If I have a stronger one, than should I use it like 1 a week and skip this lighter ones ? Or is it better to buy only this with low procentage like 2 % ? and than use tham 3-5 times a week ?

Im brown and have acne prone oily skin. How often should I exfoliate?
@jackmanleblanc25186 жыл бұрын
brown bread I'm brown with acne prone oily skin as well so I may be able to help. Personally, when I used physical exfoliators I would use it three days a week. However, I've switched to a chemical exfoliator recently (cosrx BHA power liquid), and ever since I started using that daily I haven't had acne for weeks. I would recommend working your way up to daily usage however. When I first got it I only used it three days a week because I didn't know how my skin would react.
