Joe quick question. Many times I just start a song in SO and then when I am going to do what you did in the video. The end marker is way to the right. I have to drag it over and it is a pain. Is there a shortcut to get this done? I know I should be paying attention to the setup page but I am not. That for a great video. Cheers Tony

I was hoping this would explain how to send a song to someone else for mixing. Not that I would need to do that, but there might be those who would.

There is a way to do that a couple of ways! You can use the workspace, which is if the person you are sending it to also has Studio One. ( don’t quote me on that) But then in the Song tab under mixdown you will see export stems. From there you can add to a folder and zip it up and send it out that way! Hopefully this helps!!✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿

That's funny, the reason I clicked on your video was to learn how to use the "loudeness" part of the mixdown box, lol - you said, "you don't need to worry about that." There are A LOT of options there! KZbin, Apple, Amazon, etc., I have no I idea how to use these properly.

Hi, thanks for great video’s. Hope you Are able to answer a question. When i export from studio one i get double vokal. I dont understand why. I Even trye to delete my vokal track but the vokal is still on my export file. But when i play it in studio one its only one vokal and no vokal after i delete the vokal track.

Hi, I'm looking into changing to Studio One. Would I be able to export INDIVIDUAL files on the timeline as mp3's? Do they keep the names of the individual clips in the timeline? We do a lot of IVR work and sometimes we have up to 400 short files, already named, in the timeline we need to export as mp3's Thanks!

is it true that the Demo version (v6) can only export 30 seconds? I don't see a Start and End marker on the PC like you do, and right click on the timeline and select Start and another place for End did not work... By the way, what is File -> Convert and use aaf... no program including Login Pro can open that file

I record 2 guitar track panning with left and right, also tom and floor panning it stereo mid left right, and export it to MP3 , but when i transfer it to my phone via usb, sound very bad and my panning not influence like what i do on my mix. Any solutions??

Hey, Joe, My mixes are sounding great on the song page, but the mixdowns sound far worse after exporting...I'm bringing in the exported stereo file to same session (checking import to track @ mixdown) & hearing apples to apples...Everyone says mixdown should sound same as mix, especially in digital...Can you think of any settings or overall suggestions that can help get the mixdown sounding as good as the mix?...It's frustrating to do so much work, & then the final stereo file isn't representative of the mix!...Thanks so much & any & all help w/this would be greatly appreciated!!! p.s. I'm exporting to stereo wav file to same spec as mix is in (44.1K, 32-bit) or taking the bitrate down to 16, but that shouldn't affect quality this much, to my knowledge...I generally use UAD plugins w/some Soundtoys & a few other things...I use a 2012 MacBook pro w/Studio One ~4.6 & a UAD Apollo interface...The mixdown just sounds way more squashed & less vibrant & vital than mix (all same plugins, settings, etc)...I'm wondering if Studio One &/or my computer can handle mixing (summing) all that information down properly to one stereo file?...Thanks again & hopefully you can shed some light on this! Hi Joe, I created a FeatureRequest some time ago and I want to ask for your opinion and everyone who reads this comment. in the Export Range section I want 2 more features. 1. I want an automatic markers called "first sample" and "last sample". StudioOne can know when there is no sample played, so we could have "markers" only existing in the Export Range section (not on the timeline), that are placed at the first sound/sample that is coming and the last sample. This is not my idea, it's from another DAW. 2. I want an Offset value that I can adjust separately for start and end (not start and end marker, but generally start and end of song, like in feature #1 first and last sample played). The offset value shall be configurable to positive and negative values with this a new default setting could be created e.g. 300ms before first sample and 2 seconds after last sample this should give a great default value for 80% of the use cases without the need to set the start and end markers manually.

If you're meaning to master a whole album in a single project - nah don't know about that one, plugins will chew up quickly if you aren't mastering lightly. If your tracks are done and needs light tweaking - Why not? If you change your mind you can always chop them up and export them seperately later from the full file, assuming you're using a lossless format and don't add more dithering.

I do a print track within the session then I export just that stem. How does my way compare to your way?

In the way shown in the video it just exports a consolidated version of your mix as a whole with whatever elements it had at the time of exporting. However your way allows u to have more "real-time" control. So let's say u are printing and u realise something needs to be changed, u make that change and resume printing from that point on hence effectively implementing your change. In the way of thr video you'd have to make a new bounce for that change to come through in the exported stem. Hope this helps!
