Hi Adam. Tried it yesterday at our local track , which is the most dusty track that is found in the country and oh man, what a surprise , could drive whole evening, no change in tune once the filter is clogged, and filter was almost as good as new . No real need to adjust carbs either. Thanks for those useful tips

I’m running a outterware on my filter! They make one specifically for Nitro RC! It didn’t change my tune at all and I can go 2-3 races without having to clean.

Nice video Adam,can i know in more detail the name of the product,to be able to buy it?
Ive been run outerwears for yrs now. They are great, just require cleaning every so often like anything else. Cons- they are expensive. Because of wanting to have multiple ones. Pros- They do prolong the air filters immensely and keep the performance from suffering. But I use Kyosho extensively. When I met you in Savannah you said I was probably the last one in the world but your probably right!! Hahaha Enjoyed the video as always buddy!!!🦀🦀🦀

Yup I run vet bandage wrap all the time in north east. I think it helps engine life on dusty tracks and air filter more consistent at dusty track cause dirt not really sticking to it so air flow doesn’t change much throughout long run.

I did this vet wrap stuff for yearssss ....it works amazingly well....i use to swap the vet wrap after quals going into mains...never had tuning issues doing it either but then again i was running Reds or OS and they stay dialed

Would it make sense to use white since they offer in different colors that way you can see when it’s dirty and needs replacing. I’m sure most would just replace every run since it’s cheap enough

We use it here in super dusty conditions, I always make it the same length by cutting it the length of my wing

Hello Adam Start the engine with your improvement. You may need to adjust the idle

no.

You shouldn't need to make adjustments to the tune.

Has anyone done back to back testing on the oiled style filter vs the klinik rc dry element filter..?
@AdamDrake Жыл бұрын
I have a video on the dry filter. I prefer oiled filters.
@lilbigson4115 Жыл бұрын
@@AdamDrake thanks Adam, I found the video and watched it - has helped me review my current setup. I like the ease of the dry filter but feel the oiled setup might be the go for engine longevity

Hi Adam, After how many tanks of fuel do you normally replace your air filter in dusty condition with and without the vet wrap?
@MrSupermugen Жыл бұрын
i found it easy to buy more filter housings, and just swap them over after 2 qualys and before main. sort all the other shit out at home.
@AdamDrake Жыл бұрын
It depends on how dusty the track is, but its very inexpensive if you wish to change it often.

Do you run a mechanical switch?
@AdamDrake Жыл бұрын
Yes, usually the Spectrum mechanical or Protek electronic switch.

Why are u using the kyosho air filter? That shits hard to clean the surrounding plastic when it gets all grimy lol
@MrSupermugen Жыл бұрын
because its the best air filter. the only reason you dont run it is if it doesnt fit under body.
@jONAThAnBunt1990 Жыл бұрын
@@MrSupermugen what makes it the best? If it’s more dense u want then u can just get the j&t filters as they have a little more density…
@MrSupermugen Жыл бұрын
@@jONAThAnBunt1990 the filter body is stiff and strong, holds the end of foam in etc
@AdamDrake Жыл бұрын
I run it from time to time for truck because it has a little more top-end. On buggy I always use the Losi housing and FP filters.
@JMRRC-k2z Жыл бұрын
Where do you get it from
@cbh148 Жыл бұрын
Any grocery store / Walmart / pharmacy / etc., since it's a first aid medical bandage type of thing.
In my mbx8r I change filter every 5 liters and I use oil inside and out I buy the pack that comes with 12 it's actually quite cheap.. A lot of the old guys I know they clean them and use them again cheap bastards 😂
@rubencriviDT Жыл бұрын
That's actually what I do, I clean the oiled used filter with some cleaner for dirt bike filters and later just apply oil again. I thought that's what people usually do with their nitro air filters 😂

This is quite stupid no? it will restrict airflow make your engine overheat faster an change your tune.....
@asher12356 Жыл бұрын
as long as you’re not wrapping it around in multiple layers, it’s thin enough that it’s not going restrict the airflow
@MrSupermugen Жыл бұрын
Do you know whats stupid? most people over oil their filter and that changes the tune during running. This is so thin and porous that all its preventing is the "blocking" of the foam... in other words you will get a more consistant tune from it.

I haven't experienced any problems and that's why I shared this information.
