How to Factory Remote Start w/ FORscan Ford Taurus/ Interceptor

If anyone is looking to buy the hood switch online you will pay $30 - $40 for the "remote start" switch THE EXACT SAME SWITCH can be found for $15 - $20 online as an "alarm" or "door open" switch. (Ford PN - 1X4Z14018BA or Motorcraft SW5620) If I go to my local junkyard I would have to go out and find and pull the part myself but would cost less than $3.

thats not even the right damn part number dude. 1X4Z-14018-BA is Motorcraft SW6169. This is a Perimeter Alarm Switch. it is NOT a door jamb switch. It is ONLY a hood switch and you are telling everyone the wrong goddamned information. Also Dorman 926-720 is available at auto parts store for 16 bucks which is an exact fit replacement.

How does this work after remote starting and then driving? Do I have to turn the car off, insert the key and restart the engine? Or is it a seamless get in and drive...

When I remote start. I just unlock, get in, insert the key, and turn it to run position.

You will have to enable remote start with Forscan. So maybe see if someone close to can help with that.

Is there a way to contact you ? I got a 2011 SHO was a police car before. Remote is not picked up anymore, so i open the car manually with the key .... but they key fob is still detected in order to use the push start . My mechanic told me that the unit is the same that tells ypu about tire pressure . which is also a thing on my car now . Any suggestions ?

I have a 2017 Taurus ss it doesn’t have that harness option it just has the connector blanked off . Anybody know how I can obtain the harness and where to cut into so I can add this to my car ? Thanks for the video !

I have the same fob as you but it won’t turn the car off and doesn’t work after I start the car with the fob until I turn it off with the key? Did you have any problems like this?
