My wife's Google Pixel recently had a problem where the touchscreen would not respond to touch and freeze. Verizon wireless sent a replacement overnight but we wanted to get her personal data off the phone before sending back the malfunctioning one. Therefore, I made a video of how to factory reset a Google Pixel.

It should make you setup a new pin with a factory reset

Google pixel xl 128Gb. Used to shut down the machine itself and can not open it .. like Android 8.1 will lose ... do the Recovery Mod can not enter the command no. I do not know.

Don't really know. If I were to guess I would say no unless your pin is stored in the SIM card

Will you be able to log onto the same Google account after you factory reset it? Like, my phone is doing weird stuff and I want to factor reset it, but I'm afraid all of my photos and stuff will be deleted too, pls help

It will work like you first got your phone. If you sync things to the Google account, they should be saved when you login with that email again. All of your apps will have to be reinstalled.

I can’t wipe the data because after do these step and when I opened it , it tell me to enter my previous Pin and I forgot it, WTF??? If I know my pin why I should reset you? Don’t you think this is stupid, I wipe all the data and it still tell me to need the Pin so what should I do??

I've got exactly this and am trying to track down how to reflash OS.... managed to get it up and malwarebytes running briefly and there was some google/wizard ref when it froze - also getting through battery like it's made of smoke!!

@@nurulizzah20 - I couldn't get anywhere with it, despite factory resetting it (possibly). Decided the built in obsolescence chip had kicked in and effectively bricked it. Bought a pixel 3a and returned the pixel to Google for recycling, with the reassurance they would ensure all personal data erased as I couldn't be sure I'd managed it with a factory reset. HTH (Up until this point it had been an amazing, faultless phone, used for 18 months by myself and 2 years by my wife)

I have no clue. The pin might be protecting the whole phone so that someone who steals it can't wipe it out and use it

I don't believe so unless you do a factory reset which I believe is an option. I've never had it go back to the original Android OS version though when I've done it
