I have an Alienware that wasn't exactly cheap. My little brother got on it and downloaded all manner of games and malware and spyware, unintentionally(I hope lol)I was completely locked out of being an Administrator. The virus blocked all access of alerting admins, C:/ drive changes, and even erased my AlienRespawn folder/software which is just a brand name for Alienware's recovery and reset software. READ THIS if your computer doesnt do anything when you press f8, and the button it tells you to press doesnt have the repair option. i have a dell xps 420 on windows vista and f8 didnt open anything, while f2 and f12 opened things that werent useful. now, i cant tell you which button works bc i was spamming 3 buttons during startup hoping one would work, and one did. those buttons were f9, f10, f11. so try hitting those during startup. if one works, it then tells you somewhere on the screen to press f8 for more options or something and when you click it it will take you to the options he had in the video where you opt to do a factory reset. hope that helps :)

Easy Computer, I have a Gateway P-78 Series, was on vista factory installed, now it's on windows 7 professional, I tried to follow your steps, when powering on tabbing F8, and it takes me to the recovery box, but the problem is it's listed in the order: 1-Startup Repair 2-System Restore 3-System Image Recovery 4-Windows Memory Diagnostic 5-Command Prompt But the Recovery Management, is missing, how am I gonna fix this problem, kindly need your help, thank you.

I followed your directions, but at the point where it says administrator and asks for password I don't recall ever having an administrator password. When I click 'ok' it gives a message 'Your account has been disabled. Please see your system administrator. When I sign in under my personal account, it doesn't give me the factory reset option. +jeremy krieg sorry you are having trouble. Try this boot your computer and when you see the Dell splash screen appears press and hold < Ctrl > and then press < F11 >. Then, release both keys at the same time. Let me know if this helps

Sorry Eric, but if you don't know how to do it on XP you shouldn't just tell me to watch all of your videos and sub, I don't treat my viewers that way, I always help my viewers get to the bottom of the problem and never mislead them. Hello you need a boot img and then you need a operating system.
