I've been training handstands for about a year now, and to anyone new, I can't tell you how important learning how to fall is. He isn't just saying how it will affect your progress. You won't be able to properly push yourself if that fear of falling is never abolished. Love the content, Tom! When meeting new clients and discussing their goals, I expose them to both yours and FitnessFAQ's channel to see if they're all about going toward bodyweight. Cheers from Canada!

Jeremy Raymakers Can we directly start from step 3 because the space in my house is very limited and full of unmovable things and I cant practice cartwheel at wheel. I feel comfortable to kick up to a wall or do a chest-to-wall but i rarely press my chest or nose to the wall and always leave some cm away from the wall...

Good tutorial as aways, but one point I want to mention... I hurt my wrist badly when doing pirouettes (when turning the wrist), and it took me out from handstand training for years. Admittedly I wasn't warmed up enough, but I think it's a good idea to start practicing them with low kickups first to be safe.

Great video as always! Tom, do you also have one side on which you usually fall from handstands? For me it is left. When I consciously try to bail to the right, it doesn't feel natural. Does it have to do something with postural deviance or is it quite okay? what do you think?

Hi Tom. Awesome video, thanks so much. This is one of my biggest barriers to ahnf stand at the moment. The other thing is being able to kick up. My hamstrings are so tight it makes it quite difficult- can't kick them up straight and it's pretty tiring. I work on improving this with yoga often, but seems it may just be how I'm built. Any ideas? Thanks again Micah

What do you think is more effective between PNF and antagonist strengthening? For example, contracting hamstrings down or hip flexors up? Using weighted/prone dislocates contracting up against gravity or down against stretching?

Hi Tom, any tips for bailing off high parallettes, ledges, or handstand canes? On smaller parallettes or handstand blocks, you can still use your other hand to touch the ground when you pirouette but the higher you go, the more sketchy it becomes. Also, should I learn the bent arm press or frog to handstand before trying to perform handstands on these tools? Trying to jump into them is intimidating. Thanks!
@BodyweightWarrior5 жыл бұрын
jdoc86 bailing is the same just a little more like a round off finish when off higher objects

You really don't need to be able to do cartweel to safely bailout. It is similar, but it's a different move. There is simpler way, just practice bailout against a wall or with a partner.
