Bro first time anyone has given a realistic time frame. Otherwise people just say learn handstand in 5 mins . And not able to do it even after being in decent shape it's frustrating. Thanks bro
@klemenkovacic91095 ай бұрын
if you want to speed up progress, find someone who's already done it, it will help you dramatically you know how they say instead of wasting 5 years learning a skill on your own blindly, follow a book and you will have it down in less than a year

Most useful video in the entire internet. People just talk about how good and great they are and never share their path and how long it took. That makes other people feel they are not build for it and give up. This kind of videos help to motivate and not give up so quickly.

Liked and subscribed. Your progress is faster than me, but I'm 53 and don't train handstand every day. I'm just stubborn and keep chipping away at it. Now you can do straddle to handstand. If I can ever get that I will really feel super. :) Such a beautiful powerful move.

I love this, thank you! All the other handstand tutorials are like, just do it, lol, but it takes a lot of strength in your arms and the rest of your body ofc, and mobility. Not to mention the fear of falling on your neck. So yeah, it's a pretty hard skill for the common person to achieve. I keep working on mine because time will pass anyway and in the end it's only going to matter that i achieved it and not how long it took. Keep pushing people!

Hi Kevin, this is an awesome perspective on your great achievement! I'm 58 and in my youth I was known for the enormous lack of patience and head-through-the-wall attitude. I learned to adjust both in the past decades which eventuall got me far in life. In the past decade I lost a great deal of "passive weight" (aka: fat 😉), run 100k a week without getting injured and I would love to take on a complementary challenge. Handstands have always been an inspiring art but I did not have the kudos to really go for it due to lack of mobility and core strength. Mobility and core strength however are what I lack to further improve my wellbeing, but until today I had no specific goal to work on them. FOUND IT! Thank you! 🤗

Love the way that you documented this over time. Honestly I thought it was relatively fast how you got to >10s handstand, but it's beautiful that making progressions (such as in calisthenics) forces you to go back to your foundational skills and realize that you could improve the basic handstand from banana form

At first I thought 781 days for the press alone was a bit much but then I realized you took into account the time it took to get the handstand. With that in mind, my timeframe for learning the press was roughly similar, although it broke down more along the lines of ca. 700 days of handstand basics training (up til I got a 2 min endurance hold) + basic strengthening exercises (dips, bench, overhead press etc) and then like 2 months of actual press training using the wall.

Sometimes i can't hold my handstand more than 5/6s and sometimes i do it for 20s+ .. And I don't know why... But practice when you have free time, hold with a wall 30s, several times, you can do pushups or you can also lay down, stomach on the floor, hands up like you're doing a handstand but on the ground, engage your muscles and tuck in your navel, it will make your brain understand the position

@jafyl27056 ай бұрын
Great video man! You're super authentic for showing the real amount of time it takes for 99 % of us. I'm currently rehabbing my partial ACL tear (5months in) and it took so much discipline and work day after day just to get to walking and squatting with my bodyweight. I've probably still got 7-9 months to go till I can sprint, jump and do anything I want painlessly. These things simply take time, because our central nervous system, our ligaments, connective tissue and muscles NEED time to adapt. Comparable to a baby that could only lie on the ground after birth.

Ive been on the press to handstand journey myself for wuite a while (althogh with 2-3 year of pandemic break) but I have never been consistent enough with the practice to get over the “jump to handstand” part. But after watching this I know whats missing for me to get to the press and seems more reaistic that I can achieve it (with more consitent trainig). Grabbing my gym clothes!

great video! biggest learning for me was, to do it in a space where I can fall properly and not against anything 😀also huge difference is keeping the legs wide and not together when pressing up, I guess thats the next step and requires so much core muscles. but stretching and getting flexible should not involve pain! small steps, better than injure yourself!
