I used this video as inspiration. Now 8 months later I'm watching it again to motivate myself to finally fill the other 7/8ths of the bag. Let's just say it took a while to get the fabric and even longer to cut it all up. Probably wear a glove for the scissors to prevent blisters or just tough it out. That's on you. That rolling blade and a good surface to use it on is necessary also.

I was able to get old uniforms for free from my uniform rental service rep. I told him what I was doing and asked if he had any he was throwing away that were worn or defective. Also went to their main location and asked somone in the parking lot that worked there, he wheeled out a large bin of uniforms that we're headed for the trash. I was able to get mine filled this way. Also uniforms were already washed as they have them clean before repairs or inspection.

Use popped popcorn (no butter). The sound of crunching popcorn is most satisfying as you beat the bag. May I also suggest changing out the old broken popcorn for new from time to time. You may eat the old popcorn if desired, adding salt and butter for flavor. Now you have more energy to continue your workout and become fit for cage match.

Both of my heavy bags are super hard. It’s like hitting a wall. Could be because it’s 120 and 130lbs. But I’m seriously considering buying high density 2-3” thick foam to line it with and refill it with the material it already has. Should soften the blows considerably and lighten them alil.

I bought a 100 lb Everlast heavy bag last July because it was on sale for only $105 at Big Five making it the only heavy bag above 80 pounds I could actually afford at the time. The problem I am having with it now is that the lower half is way stiffer than the top half. I believe it is filled with a mixture of textile like fillings and sand, so the sand falls over time as my bag hangs. So here is my question, do you think I could open it up at the top and remove some of the sand (but not all) and replace it with an equivalent amount of old clothes shreds or do you think I would mess it up since it is a prefilled bag?
@Combatcorner
@Combatcorner 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Spencer, Awesome question! If there is a zipper or an opening on the bag you can try to take out some of this material and refill. Sometimes with other brands they tend to fill heavy bags with sand bags and not so much loose sand. If there isn't an opening this may effect how the bag sits after the new material is in.

@@Combatcorner I spent a few hours yesterday removing the little peices of old clothes from my 100 lb Everlast heavy bag so I could get to the sand bags towards the bottom. I did eventually get to the sand bags and removed all of them, then weighed them, they collectively weighed almost 40 lbs which is much more than they looked like they did to me. This is my new problem though, I was not able to fit all of the old clothes bits I removed back into it before zipping it back up. Do you have any suggestions for how to pack the clothes bits in tighter so I can fit more in it? I don't want a 70 lb heavy bag!
