Seeing this is very inspiring. I had just found this and watched it for some idea how to construct better scenes. I didn't think it was going to lead to an idle animation. With the help of your tutorials on the Clip Studio Paint channel, I had constructed one of my characters, a space girl, two years ago and began editing her pixel art for an idle animation using three poses. What I did for mine was give her arms a sense of movement by stretching them in the in-betweens to give a sense of movement. I think it works. I'm currently messing with a second space girl. Similar idle animation, but I'm experimenting with a few more poses to create a hair bounce.

You're easily one of my favorite channels so here's hoping for another year of great videos! :D BTW, you mentioned your Super Gameboy palette video, have you ever looked into trying to emulate the style of the Gameboy Color? IIRC GBC exclusive games are pretty much full-color, so they're probably not that interesting, but I think the way the console colors Gameboy games that weren't designed with color in mind is pretty cool.

And yeah I've thought about that, I think you're right though that it'd be interesting to find the inspiration from games that apply colour more unexpectedly, kinda bridging the gap between 4-shade gameboy and full GBC look. Do you know any good examples? Off the top of my head I think Donkey Kong played on the Super GB might be one like this

@@BJGpixel The GBC was a bit before my time, so I don't have any personal experience to draw from. I've not had much luck googling for good gameplay/screenshots either unfortunately. Hey! Your videos are great! I am a game developer and something I struggle with is making modular pixel art components/assets to be able to fill a scene or to be able to use as set pieces that I can duplicate and move around in other scenes. In some cases I'll even write programs to generate a scene using a library of objects and components. Thanks! I use Adobe Photoshop for the animation work as well; there's a timeline tool where you can make frame-by-frame changes to layers :D

Around 3:40 you make the right side of the cable a bit better by making the edges flow over more, but you didn't do that for the left side. Is there any reason behind this?
