Also I love the character in the animation at the end. The two fighters have distinctly different movement styles, the one on the left is holding very steady and blocking while the one on the right is more on the offensive and jumps back for a big strike. Very well done as always!

Concerning sword form: the pushing-against-each-other's-blades-while-staring-in-each-other's-faces-trope is pure fiction. That situation would never arise in an actual sword fight. Just in case you didn't know. This is also not necessarily a criticism - I know there is a reason for this trope in cinema (and thus, by extension, in pixel art abstraction of tense sword fight scenes), and I don't have to like it, but I do have to live with it, so live with it I shall.

Super cool how you pulled off this soft look on a gray-scale image of this resolution, everything looks so natural & cinematic, just like u said in the video! ✨ I found the tip about weathering the shadows particularly helpful, I think I'd usually tend to weather the boards themselves but this is a nice & subtle way to show it 😁
@BJGpixel3 жыл бұрын
Thanks dude, was particularly excited to see this cinematic style with the CRT glow! ✨ And yeah the weathering thing is a nice trick when using low resolution like this! My first instinct was also to weather across the board, but they were only 2-px wide I think, so it can get messy 😅 It's fun to come up with ways around that!

Really loved the cinematic aesthetic supported through the greyscale pallet. At the end i though it would be awesome if you tried to animate sort of a camera movement from the forest zooming into the fight, which would underline the cinematic aspect even more. Maybe thats a technique you could explore in a future video. Much love and appretiation.
