You are fab. I can understand you. The steps are clear amd I can see what you're doing. One small thing. It would help to know the angle you're running the gap filler at in relation to the cornice. Might seem obvious and dumb to most but every step helps an amateur. 😊

Another stuff up by the builder is going to be fixed. *Thank you* Bill. (Must be nice being tall and not needing to move a ladder as your apply it as you go 😁). This may help those of us with old eyes. When you cut the plastic dispenser nozzle, use a Texta and put a black line along the "top" of the dispenser so you can see the appropriate orientation to get a good bead loaded into the target area. I hope that makes sense and it saves even just one person from stuffing up the application of the filler like I did. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ 👍

Thank you for sharing this, my question is can l use the same glue on wooden cornice that had been used on chipboard ceiling( the old ceiling made of chipboard and not moulded gypsum ceiling ),please advice
@billshowto5 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes it can be used on many different materials just double check the product details. You want to find one that is can be sanded and painted. Also this is a filler not a glue ( adhesive). You can find products that are both an adhesive and filler in one , just depends on what you want to do exactly 👍

@AmiteshNaidu2 жыл бұрын
1. You should cut out the cracked patty or whatever was used before 2. Don't spray soapy water on top of silicon, it will prevent the edges from sticking to the surface correctly and will peel out sooner than later

Hi, and thank you for your excellent video. Would you recommend the same product for gaps between old wooden cornice and rendered internal walls? Shrinkage of the render over the years has opened up some large gaps (5-7mm) that a previous owner filled with silastic that's also stuck to everything in sight. Once I've cleaned everything up, I want to make a better job of it than he did.

@IamBlueDragon_2 жыл бұрын
Hey, this lasts permanently as long as there are no movements between the wall and the ceiling. Thereare so much movements in my ceiling due to extreme heat and cold & moisture between seasons, I have to do this once every few years. The trick is to get as much material as you can into the gap.

Question... how do you fix bigger cracks? i have bigger chunks of plaster that have fallen away? would i still fill the bigger holes with no more gaps?
@billshowto6 жыл бұрын
Hi depends on where the crack is and how big. You can use regular plaster filler if it’s big or along the wall with some sort of reinforcement tape so it dosnt crack again. I’ll post a video next time I come across one.

scott Jones CSR Cornice Cement is what you want to use. Bunnings stock it.

I wouldn’t recommend cornice cement as it is near impossible to sand. If you don’t get it close to perfect when applying it then have fun trying to sand it.
