This is exactly what I was looking for THANK YOU! I have still have 1 question. I am wanting to fill my small 2L tanks with my Large tank. If i use this transfill whip how do i know how much pressure i am putting into my small tank?

Thanks for reaching out. Some fill whips will have a pressure gauge on each end, but if not, the pressure will equalize between the two tanks. In other words, the big tank fills the little tank until the pressure is the same on each side. If you put the end of the fill whip with the SPG on the big tank, you can throttle the valve and stop the filling process early if needed by simply watching the gauge on the supply side. Great tip! But why using an Int whip with a Din-to-Int screw-in adaptor? Wouldn't it be easier to use a Din whip from the start?

Yes, if all your tanks are DIN. Oftentimes when I travel to remote places, they do not use DIN tanks, so although the inserts make it more complicated, they make it more universal and are lighter than carrying a yoke adapter to go the other way.

Morning Jill. What I don't understand is, The Logic behind filling a Pony Tank(Spare Air, etc) from the Main diving tank. I would rather have it filled separately from the compressor. And not waste the limited air in the main tank. I get that you don't always need the big tank.

I can't speak for everyone, but I always fill the very small bottles (like my dry suit bottle) with a whip because it's cheaper or is easier. Most dive shops charge by the tank, regardless of whether it's 120 cu. ft. or 6.5 cu. ft. If you're filling from a compressor, it's a PITA to watch a small tank to ensure it doesn't get over-filled

In some cases, I need to top up a tank onboard or in a remote place where I do not have access to a compressor. Using your pony bottle example... if I had a spare large tank onboard, I could easily top up that pony bottle using a transfer whip after a dive if needed.
