We are planning on making an epic river journey in 2026, it will be over 200 miles in a river that will have many shallow and dry spots. A light solar boat is what we're looking for- this one looks like a candidate! Thanks for sharing.

What if just my octo is free flowing but not my main? Any ideas?
@JillHeinerth11 күн бұрын
Generally, that would indicate that the octo itself needs service. A repair mechanic will first check the intermediate pressure to rule out an HP seat issue in the first stage. Then if that is okay, they will disassemble the second stage and likely replace the LP seat and readjust the cracking pressure to bring it within specification. It is a quick fix.

Have come across this point in several recent tech diving discussions presented on KZbin about human dive physiology by our industry leaders and subject mater experts. Once again taking every advantage we can to maximize our coexistencein in the underwater aqua sphere. 🤿😀🤙

This is exactly what I was looking for THANK YOU! I have still have 1 question. I am wanting to fill my small 2L tanks with my Large tank. If i use this transfill whip how do i know how much pressure i am putting into my small tank?
@JillHeinerth5 ай бұрын
Thanks for reaching out. Some fill whips will have a pressure gauge on each end, but if not, the pressure will equalize between the two tanks. In other words, the big tank fills the little tank until the pressure is the same on each side. If you put the end of the fill whip with the SPG on the big tank, you can throttle the valve and stop the filling process early if needed by simply watching the gauge on the supply side. I hope that makes sense. Best of luck.

Jill could you please give us an update on the liberty sidemount with wob at depth. How deep have you had it? Any insights would be awesome because I’m researching my next unit. You rock!
@JillHeinerth5 ай бұрын
Hi there! You might want to connect with DiveSoft and ask them for the WOB stats. They can share the data from their CE testing. I don't currently dive the unit these days. I opted for a backmount rebreather which works better for me as a photographer. I can be like walking a dog off leash and the shifting body positions and trim are not ideal for SM rebreathers. Cheers!

Why Ben and Maks whom lay the most of the line and where the first involved have neyther mentioned nor given any credit. Acording to other versions these british divers arrived when the perspectives of succeding got better and just made de "glorious" dive, using the line that was allready installed all the way close to the place were the kids were. Just curious
@richardstanton92313 ай бұрын
It should be noted that all the line laying activity from the dive base located in Chamber 3, towards the boys, was accomplished from the early hours of Sunday 1st June until John & I located the boys on the Monday evening (2nd June); thus a period of 44 hours. The boys had been missing for nine days by this point. This operation was conducted by the Thai Navy SEALs , Ben & Maksym, then John & I. Each of whom were operating as a line laying team, progressing forward from the previous team's furthest point of penetration. There were six line laying dives that advanced the main line towards the boys. In sequence these were conducted in this order SEALs, Ben, SEALs , us (U.K), Ben, us. The total distance between Ch 3 & the boys was 1507m, there was of course one continuous guide line through this passage. John & I laid 935 metres, Ben laid 253 metres, & the Thai SEALs were responsible for 319 metres. This has all been measured after the cave had drained. So yes, Ben & Maksym played an integral part during this stage of operation, but it certainly cannot be implied that most of the line was laid before we became involved, nor that Ben was responsible for the greater overall majority; as you have inaccurately stated. Furthermore, three days before the commencement of the main line advancement Thursday the 28th, John & I were laying line in shorter flooded sections up to Ch 3 where we encountered & subsequently rescued the 4 trapped pump workers.

Hello Jill. What a great video and information. I live in Fairbanks Alaska. I love to Ice dive here and do some Scientific Diving in Homer Alaska. Now that I have my own Drysuit (shell type) and my warm "bunny suit", I am still trying to keep my hands warm. I do have the dry gloves, but after a few mins in Arctic waters they stiffen up and get really cold. I have been looking into the Santi heated gloves (and possible vest) but don't want to deal with all the wires and battery pack. What would be a good solution to this problem?
@JillHeinerth7 ай бұрын
Hi Dusty, Yes, the Santi heated gloves are great, but the wires and battery pack can be a bit cumbersome. If you wear the right glove liners you may be comfortable enough. I like wearing the Fourth Element undergloves which are essentially a short wristed neoprene glove. If it gets wet, you still have comfort. A wool liner or merino or alpaca add a toasty layer for longer dives. Just stay away from anything with cotton or synthetics. They won't be as warm as good wool.

I've done my own research, bottom line: Brown killed Richtothen. Ironically, Browns own report causes confusion as he didn't follow the Baron to the ground to confirm his own kill. Apparently he shot at the German long enough to get him off May's tail, and once Richtothen had done so, we went on about his business. Oliver C. “Boots” LeBoutillier did witness Browns tracer rounds hit Richtothen's cabin and did follow the German to the ground. I see no reason why a seasoned pilot at the scene in the actual dogfight would be mistaken or make that up. One of the reasons why Brown never lost a man to combat is that his primary concern was deterring the Germans from shooting up his men, not racking up kills. I believe the Aussies did hit Richtothen's plane, but he was already mortally wounded by that time by Brown's bullet.

When I first starting diving I thought a fin was just a fin and they where all the same. How wrong I was 😂. I now own 5 sets of fins all different sizes and weights for my different style of diving. I have just bought the Atomic Aquatics fin and really like it, it is a lot less heavier than my other fins i use, I mainly use Apeks Rk3 hd's so I have to add little ankle weights when using the Atomic fins. British divers like myself tend to use heavier commercial/tec fins so having light fins is a bonus sometimes I can power on at greater speeds with the Atomic 👌🏻
