How to fill shapes without gaps in Infinite Painter

Seems like Infinite Painter has fixed the problem ver 5.3.2 (Feb 2023) on the iPad and ver 7.0.36 (Jan 2023) on Android.

It still happens on Android, version 7.0.36, but if you increase the tolerance of the fill tool, as this comment kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6W3i5SiYsdqnJY&lc=Ugy0qoOOQnVmjeDDk454AaABAg suggests, then it works correctly.

In my opinion infinite painter is by far the best drawing app because it offers many tools in a very clean interface. It used to be very buggy in previous releases but now it seems much more reliable on both ipados and android

Great tutorial. I just started playing with infinite painter and really like it. The brushes seem more natural to me than procreate. Maybe I'm just imagining this 😁

At least with procreate it's easier to download brushes and it has a larger community. Infinity is really lacking in brushes and features.

You are no alone in thinking that. I just started to mess with IP and i feel the same way. For reason my art does not look so digital. I hope they can improve on the keyboard shortcuts.

another way to do it is to use the fill tool on a different layer as usual, then with the layer selected, go to filters, bokeh, and add a value of 1 or 2. to me this method is a little faster than using the selection tool and expanding.

I feel like this is probably the right way to do this, because in my opinion a fill tool should be filling a continuous target colour with another, and if the edges of lines have a blur effect which registers as a gradient of colours, those should not be auto-filled by a fill tool. If the fill tool is adjusted, my concern would be what the tolerance limits are for filling an enclosed object and if we have control of that tolerance.

Thanks, I hope the developers fix this soon, it is a basic tool and it doesn’t work properly. The workaround is slow and workflow less fun

I'm not entirely sure what Teoh is referring to, because this problem does not exist for me: You can see there is a button right there to the left (the cogwheel) that allows you to set the tolerance. I just increase it a little bit, and everything gets filled properly. I am using Android though, perhaps it is different for you.

Sir, may i ask are you using any screen protector like tempered/paperlike on your iPad? I tried paperlike almost 2 months and feels like the glass may suit for me, is apple pencil straight to the glass will make a lot of scratches?

I no longer use screen protector. Apple Pencil is not going to scratch the glass

There are many problems with importing PSD files. So it's better to convert to some other file format -- downside is of course you lose PSD features.

Teoh, are you aware that when you use the fill tool, a cogwheel-button appears to the left, where you can change the tolerance to make sure it fills everything (and it ignores tiny leaks)? Everything works perfectly for me after increasing the tolerance, but I am using Android. Perhaps this cogwheel isn't working either on iOS? I don't have an ipad anymore, so I can't test it.

@@teohontech7141 Ok, but that cogwheel has always been there for me (since before jan 2023). So if you could not use the cogwheel, it must have been a specific issue for iOS I believe. Unless you are talking about the pen-dragging gesture, which I never tried sorry.

That's not going work for me. I color my son's line work and it's highly detailed with thin outline. I go through and smug everything smooth and sharp anyway. I don't think my OCD will let me out of it. Helpful tip either way.

Procreate does not have this problem. But you can do this with Procreate too.
