I love the idea of using devotion instead of discipline. I have recently realized that my laziness is actually avoiding/prolonging a task because of my need for perfection. I have had to learn that done is better than perfection. And my art can grow, it doesn't have to be perfect from the get go.

I love this comment and couldn’t agree with you more! I also find that I put things off because I’m “not ready” or I fear not doing something perfect but just getting started is so much better than not starting at all.

‘I should’ brings guilt. Guilt brings paralysis. For me even making a checklist for the day of different chores can bring paralysing guilt of being a failure. Now I make a list with no intention of ticking all the boxes. I make some of it and I treat it as an achievement

Maybe it is best to say, “I will”. ‘Should’ is parent ego, ‘want’ is child ego state, ‘will’ is adult ego state…. that will be $300.

Better Help is not therapy. It’s basically like paying a friend to listen to you. I told the counselor I was having issues with marijuana and she said “I’m not going to write that down” LIKE????? Way to make me feel like shit even more. Why even say that? It was so judgy.

My hidden block is that I feel sad and lonely, so when I know I should clean up the kitchen right after using it, I feel like nobody is going to see it anyway because I'm single and all alone in my home. However _I_ will see it and and I really need to love myself and become the best version of myself I want to be, when I have achieved that I will find someone who is just the right match for me. Instead of staying in bad relationships where I am not appreciated, because not even I myself appreciate myself to ask for more.

I will pray for you. That you may know, the most important person in any relationship (in the healthy way,) is you. Love yourself. Heal your inner child wounds, or else they can continue manifesting in your life. Journal and speak with God, how can I love myself properly? God can you fill me with your love and guide me? Can you show me what life is about, my purpose? Ask yourself, if you were a little child still, what would you say/ do towards that beautiful little child to let her know you love her (you)? Would you give her a hug, let her know you love her, ask her what she would like to do (even on your birthday as a child.) I think you need to spend some quality time with you, in peace and quiet , i recommend with like instrumental worship music playing, don’t know if you know the Lord but our identity is in Him (He will reveal things to you etc.). May the Holy Spirit interpret, in Jesus name amen. Big hugs in the spirit to you and may God fill your soul, He’s the only safe & everlasting person to fill us. Everyone else is for a season- even our parents, spouses etc they all are born and rarely die at the same time. Fill yourself w everlasting things and all these other things will fall into place, in Jesus name amen. ❤

Have you thought about doing cleaning content? There are people out there who have made content just by cleaning their home. They’ve made communities because others watch and thank them for showing them how they clean so over time you’ll build a following and it will be like you’re cleaning for tons of people to see your awesome results.

I had extreme stress as a hospice nurse during Covid, developed fibroids, ended up anemic… hard Covid twice and shingles and burnout. Anemia is a lack of oxygen to the tissues of the body, lack of oxygen to the brain, brain fog, dark circles around the eyes, depression Any effort felt like death warmed over, I couldn’t find my thoughts…. I had to stop everything, look up every condition I had and how to heal them naturally. Thank goodness I didn’t have health insurance because I was no longer working. Took so long to get to today… I can do 20 mins on the treadmill more easily but I’m still exhausted When before Covid I could burn 1200 calories in the gym in 2hrs five days a week This can truly mess with your mind…until you get to the root cause of what’s happening inside you body and realize STRESS is a real killer ❤

This came at the exact right time. I'm delving more into being the "hero" child which had left me to this crippling perfectionism. I have suffered from both the fear of failure and success, because I feel a huge need to control everything. I am literally sitting at my desk breathing into fear for 5 mins before I post things. This reviring doesn't happen over night and I'm learning to be gentle with myself in the process.

Devotion>discipline fine out what the fear is over whats holding you back your not the same every (maybe make a routine for each day) its not about showing up the same, its about showing up upgrading ur standards=upgrade ur life figure out ur standards. Should Vs Must our childhood sets standards for our adult life -> which we can change change ur standards in how u show urself set rules to give urself the gift of not thinking stop negotiating structure can be a gift Cut out distractions slowly identify as that person

I love 'devoted'! Another way I've looked at discipline is from the place of 'setting the stage'. At work I was the first there, so I 'set the stage' by turning on all the lights, loading the bakery case, putting money in the registers, turning on the music, getting the coffee brewing, pulling any spent flowers out of the vases and refreshing them, wiping everything down, etc. If someone came in early and let people in before we were officially open, and I wasn't done with all that, I spent the whole day 'catching up' which I hated.

I used to be like that.I have improved just by doing 1 min clean then 5 min clean after a few days. My goal now is to clean 15 min x 2/day. Small 1min tasks and small steps do have a huge effect. Also I have the rule to put everything back imediately. But like she said in the video, the root cause is psihological/emotional. Think what is causing you distress or sadness? What don't you enjoy in your life? For me it is my relationship with my boss and friends moving away. Wish you best if luck!

This video is just everything I have been contemplating my whole life.... 1. Root cause of procrastination, laziness - perfectionism, fear of failure etc. solution - Just show up, that's all what matters 2. Feeling low, mood swings and other PMS signs as a part and parcel of menstrual cycle, which is normal phenomena. Don't be harsh on yourself for what your body goes through. 3. Reframing discipline as devotion. And finally changing your identity and start showing up according to that identify. This is such a chef's kiss video. TYSM for this video❤

I’m honestly so glad I grew up in poverty because it set me up to expect less. She talks about it like it’s a negative thing, but it teaches you so many beneficial skills. Minimalism and deeply understanding needs vs wants was the first one. Then comes learning how to entertain yourself and others on a budget. Lastly I’ve learned how to repair so many things rather than wasting and replacing. Low-waste lifestyle has become such an amazing part of my life thanks to a poor childhood. Now I can budget and travel often because I spend less!

I promised myself to meditate every single morning and I'm doing Dr Joe Dispenza's meditation so it's pretty long, like 50mins/day. I skipped a few times in the last half a year and I always beat myself up for it. Cause there are people who "never miss a day" and I just feel like I'm not commited enough? But if you miss 5 times out of 100 let's say, does that mean you are not committed enough? I realized that all my life I was a perfectionist, the good girl who ran herself into the ground multiple times. By the age of 30 I burned myself out at work and there is just a part of me that rebels against perfection. It's like this sabotaging part of me was saying: 'I'm not gonna do 100% from now on, I'm only gonna do 95%" and another part of me judges it as "not good enough". So, discipline is a very tricky subject. I love the idea of reframing it as devotion to yourself. I'm currently reprogramming my mind to believe that 95% IS in fact good enough. That I CAN get the prize even if I miss a few days. It's perfectly enough and not being perfect won't stop my progress.

Wow, I really resonated with this video. I’m currently going through a weight loss journey to reduce my cholesterol and my chances of becoming pre diabetic. People are continuing to tell me over and over again that I’m being too hard on myself and continue to place their advice. I continued to push off working on my diet for years because I didn’t want to do the “wrong things” or didn’t know where to start. I’m realizing that I was procrastinating it bc I didn’t want to fail. Now I’m losing weight and being devoted to my self and diet. The clean environment and reducing distractions are my main roadblocks to making progress.

My car could break down any moment. So buying a new car and having money for dates and potentially new clothes for dating is important for me. 17:00 you mention foods you avoided for your autoimmune disease by setting rules. I totally agree with you. I want to eat better but I don’t have the money to stay consistent. We have to set rules to live by.
