Sometimes when looking for a coolant leak on a semi it can be difficult due to many coolant hoses but following these steps you should be able to find your leak. When there is no signs of leak found and there is no mixture in fluids, most likely its the air compressor failure. Air compressor goes bad on the inside and creates high pressure in the coolant system wich shoots the coolant out the blow by on the surge tank. 👍👋

Yes, checking the air tanks for signs of coolant would be another indicator. When coolant is being pushed out, we would test coolant for combustion gases. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🔧🇨🇱🔧👊🏼💪🏼

@@TATEXPRESSINC if you have combustion gases = head issue If no combustion gases = air compressor EGR, thermostat been changed No milky substance, Doesnt over heat, never over heated much 225 going up mountains dd15 - 650k miles Replaced top cap have side cap to replace and doing a gases test when I get truck back from springs bushing job

Or you can do what I am doing now. AC to full power parked regen with hood closed then when regen is done shut of engine wait 10min and have a look at the whole system. Do not remove coolant tank cap until engine has cooled, about 1 hour.

Nice job (done by explaining things with everyday simple language)! Since this is about coolant leak could you have idea where fuel and coolant meet in DD15? I had recently warning / code about water in fuel and during fuel module draining I've noticed reddish fuel going out. Was not too much but enough to shutdown engine. Thanks for idea in advance. Keep doing good job.

Gordan, cross contamination of coolant in fuel could be an indication of leaking injector cups or fuel cooler.

@@ismail255 that I'm losing antifreeze but I don't know where it goes, before this problem the hose from the compressor that leads to the back of the engine from antifreeze broke and after that I started losing antifreeze but I don't know where it goes

Hi, bro I have a dd15 2015 my coolant reservoir becomes full when the truck is hot and is running but when I park it for a day the coolant reservoir is below the minimum. What could be the problem? I come to tx every week so I can come by if it’s ok

Sounds like an internal failure, could be EGR cooler or Liner. When is a good time to bring it by for some test?
