Start at leak source like he said. Look at the pitch of the roof and where the drain is. If you’re at the edge of the wall (highest point) and the leak is near the drain (lowest point). You have from the wall to the drain as a possible leak. It also depends on if there was a previous roof underneath. That allows water to travel further and not only with the deck line. Check all seams and projections(vents, hvac units and portals). If it’s a rubber roof, most of the time I find the corners of units deteriorating and causing an opening.All projections are cut through the deck which allows water to escape. Hopefully this was a little more helpful!

Have you ever tried using thermal imaging?

Yes, but we haven't found it to be too efficient because there are so many variables that could affect the accuracy of the reading.

I am trying to repair my flat roof. I have applied the adhesive to the roof. When I lay felt onto the adhesive do I have to peel off the thin plastic sheet from the felt first? Absolute beginner here😮😮.

It all depends, what type of product are you using? What's the exact product name? If you search the manufactures youtube, they typically have instructions on each product.

What do you do with ice build up in rain gutters??
