I started an online golf coaching program without a marketing analysis of any kind. It turns out nobody ever wanted this kind of service, and all those who encouraged me to make it work were basically being nice and didn't want to turn me down. The biggest lesson I learned is exactly this video is about: doing a market research is wayyyy more important than pretty much anything. Here’s my challenge right now: I’ve been selling my online course/coaching program for about 4 years to a very specific who. (Realtors) I teach a specific selling style I want to expand my niche to all sales people. I’m trying to figure out my focus on if I should continue to serve just one demographic or open up to all sales people? I teach copywriting to freelance copywriters and entrepreneurs. You absolutely don’t need to focus on realtors, but that makes a stronger offer. If you want to go broader on audience, go more specific on the benefit and/or mechanism/system you teach.

The best validation if your business idea will work or not is ...... If already someone is doing business with your idea. If not then you dont know which field you are entering. Better you should focus on a niche analyze the competition and do something better than them like Service, Support, Marketing or what ever they are not doing good. Haven't found your niche yet? This manual has a list of hundreds of US industries. Maybe you can find one there. "Thioglycolic acid manufacturing" is on the list. Haven't a clue, but more practical things are listed such as thrift stores, baked goods stores, clothing, etc. The manual is very long, but worth looking at. Your local library might have a copy. A niche usually describes the type of business you write for. So more of the “industry”. You could also specialize in a specific medium too. But niche is generally more industry related. Hope that helps!
