Hey Tom, thanks for the awesome content you and Mitchell are putting out. I'm headed over to the Walleye Now app in a couple of weeks to try my luck near Leech Lake. I do have a random request for you - can you post a video about how you maintain your boat organization, how you keep it clean and if you every detail it how and what do you use? Thanks!!!

Tom and Mitchell, I love the channel and best of luck to your app. Your content and knowledge with electronics and your fishing skills are amazing. I am a fisherman with average skills with a mediocre boat and an old flasher for electronics. I would like you to do a video for us average fisherman, without electronics and use your visual skills and a plain old map. I would like to know how you would plan fishing style and go about fishing with these parameters. I love the high tech, but just can't afford it.

Such great content Tom and Mitchell. We always start the season jig and minnow. On the opener in Minnesota we watched guys slamming the eyes on Leeches. We switched the following day and had the same success. Do you find years with colder water temps affect your transition from minnows to leeches?

thanks for all the great info. I'm very basic , kayak and trolling motor. No electronics. How do you fish and locate a lake like this? It has good quality walleye population. I have caught some up to 28" and 9 lbs. But it's inconsistent. thanks.

Thanks Tom and Mitch for another great video! I had a quick question about your gps puck, i noticed yours is at the back of the boat. I bought my boat brand new from rapid marine in mn and they put my puck right next to my bow mount and I have a hard time with spot lock especially in the wind, and I’m wondering if that’s my issue? Should I move it to the back?

What chip do you have in your graphs? I have the regular lake master chip. I would like all the lakes I go to have all the contours. I don't on the chip I have. Only with the big lakes. Would I need the lake master plus chip then?

What’s the reasoning behind them switching From minnows to leeches as the summer progresses? More leeches/less minnow in the water so they become more the staple of their diet having them zone in on leeches or something more scientific 😂. Great Video👍

I have the most basic fish finder which really is only a depth finder. Using the simplest fish finder and a depth map how can you find the walleyes? This is asking you to go wayyyyyyyyyy back in your fishing probably but it would be cool to learn some tips on locating walleye with just these two things and also knowing what the lake shore looks like. Thanks in advance if its possible to even do this. Enjoy your videos btw but can't use the info because I don't have the tech you have on board.

You have to study where they'll be at what time of year. For inland lakes, shallow gravel bottoms with nearby streams flowing in, sandbars near weed beds, and shallow structures. After spawn they move out to go near the first drop offs, weedbed edges, humps near structure out from the sandbars or just drop offs in general out from the areas they spawned in. Next, later in the summer they move out to deeper water in the middle of the lake and near channels. Find schools of bait in these areas and you will most likely find the walleye. Don't forget they hit in the shallows at night almost year round.
