I do a lot of digging @Vo-Gus and in some circumstances you'd dig far quicker and expend far less energy with clappers (two-handle-scissor) type tool for post holes. Saves bending the back and can break up tough and rocky soils quite well with some practice; tip: Throw them down (not push into) and don't hold on too tight at impact. Cyclone is a durable brand at Bunnings. About $70 I think. I've been using the same one for about 10 years and have dug maybe 1,000 holes and many of them in hard and rocky ground. Sometimes a crowbar can assist, but wears you out a lot quicker.

Metal detect the course tailing incase. The video is good for developing techniques by seeing the details of the activity. Always innovative. I was trying to describe a sluice that could flip for cleanup. Maybe a sleeve of the moss that slips all the way around. It would collect in another tray underneath. That way you can run and empty without unscrewing it.

Raw gold ore is often black mostly if not all in colour shame i cant put pics up here to show you as i have some but also to add when you find this ore pay attention to how smooth or jagured it is example if its smooth its travelled down a river at some point and been water worn and possably old but if its jagured its an rough this is normally a sign that its broken away from a fresh vein near by and definatly go looking lol

I really enjoyed your comments on flood gold. I recently found a site with really good flood gold (10-20 colors per pan), and was surprised it was only at 8-10 ft above the river at the top of the gravel bar when the river was at low water. All the gold was in the top 12 inches and was only at the high points of the gravel bar. If I went down the towards the water even a few feet the gold disappeared. Is the lower gold washed away by the winter floods or does it work down 4 or more feet, where bedrock is way down 10 feet or more? Thanks, Bill

So Chris, if most of the gold floods out in this creek, where does it all go? Is there a large area, such as an alluvial valley, where it all concentrates.?

@mattboyd80904 жыл бұрын
@@VoGusProspecting Cheers man, when you say per meter what do you mean? Obviously not a cubic meter?
