It's interesting, during cleanup, how you see the blondes wash up and out while some white sands stay behind down almost below the black sands. Wonder what mineral that is. Could be Cassiterite as it can be almost white, and is close to but not quite the density of magnetite. Could also be Anglesite which is almost always crystaline white.

Chris It would be something to think. About rigging up a detatchable header So you can turn your HighBanker into a small dredge in times like that when water starts flowing while digging . At the suction end or vaccume end . Use two 1/8" bolts and make an x at the opening .this way less of a chance of plug ups .. and alot more Gold in the process , if the gold is there .

Love your vids Chris. Wondering what ever happened with the hard Rock ore you found. Did you go back and crush it after all? I just look at Placer gold as an indicator to find the vein. Work your way up stream, keeping good records till gold dissappear, then try to home in on vein. Working on a small light 2 stroke jaw crusher to go along with the light chain mill I make for on site processing. It's so hard to get out there for most of us, and costly when added up. Can't help but apply my cnc mfg eq I have for gold eq. Mfg. The gold bug is real. Started with a pan and classifier about a year ago, and you are right, it does boil down to I love splashing around in a river, getting filthy, playing river loto as one of my greater joys in life.

Hey Chris, if that is Phragmites Austrailis (Common Reed) you are walking through after getting your test pan, just wanted you to know it is great bush tucker. You can pan for gold and rustle up some grub in one fell swoop (and quite possibly impress the missus while you are at it.). According to www.ediblewildfood.com: "Roots contain up to 5% sugar and according to Edible Oz, can be eaten raw or cooked like potatoes. The flavour and texture are best when the root is young and in the growth cycle. It can be dried, ground coarsely and used as a porridge. Young shoots can be consumed raw, pickled, or cooked. They are best if used before the leaves form, when they are at their peak for taste. Shoots can be used like bamboo shoots. Dried stems were made into a marshmallow-like confection by North American First Nations. A sugary gum that exudes from the stem can be rolled into balls and eaten as a sweet. It has a somewhat sweet liquorice-like taste. A powder extracted from the dried stems can be moistened and roasted like marshmallow. In Japan, the young leaves are dried, ground, and mixed with cereal flour to make dumplings."
