I never knew that these stones are precious! We have lots of this kinds in our river. Traditionally, we go there to do wash our clothes and it has many precious rocks and agates too, I have seen lots but I don't have the knowledge. AWESOME finds. My Mother started a rock garden many years ago. Everywhere her and my dad went somewhere, fishing, hunting, visiting relatives in other states, she would go rocking. Her and my Dad's ashes are now in that rock garden. I have some pretty rocks I would like to tumble and add to it. My tumbler recently broke and I've hinted to my 3 daughters that I would like a double one. My birthday is this July and I will be 68.

We went on a campingtrip to the Czech republic last year, near our campsite there was a river and from the moment I discovered it I went there every day to go gemhunting. I found lots of quarts and agate. They're not polished so they look like regular stones but if you sprinkle some water on them you can see the beauty, that's what I love about river gemstones. We also discorvered a stonemine not far from our campsite and we found LOADS of jaspers. jaspers are one of the most beautiful gemstones in my opinion, I love the colors :)

I like the little fishes and I also like the background music. I just noticed that too. It's like the Celtic or Irish music I sometimes listen to. The fish - when I go walking in the creek they bite my ankles, but I let them do it because it doesn't hurt. Whatever it is they want to get by biting my ankles, I might as well let them get it.

I really love your video, it inspired me to start hunting for rocks again, since i did it as a child, but stopped because i didn't actually know anything about what interesting stones there were here and what could be found. I actually live in the kangaroo valley area, and i've been dying to know what spots you were searching around at in the video!! I live in Los Angeles and spend a lot of time in the local mountains. I often go to Angeles Forest, Mount Wilson/Mount Lowe area. I just came back from the Simi Hills, which are beautiful but almost all sandstone. I love to collect rocks at beached along the coast as well. What would I find around here? whats that red veiny stuff at 11:32 at the bottom right hand picture? i have a similar rock to this but i found it on a beach and its blue with those lines through it in that fashion. beautiful rocks youve shown today.
