Hi I was just there June 2, 2023. Your video was right on and made it easy to get to. One update: they do not give out physical maps anymore you would have to download an app to see the plots. Also barricaded now because of vandalism. But so worth it to go.

That was great and thank you so much!!!! I’ve always wanted to go to Paris just to visit Jim Morrison’s grave site!!!! I once told a friend that I’d would actually fly to Paris, visit Jim Morrison and hop on a flight back!!!! Still, it would be nice to experience Paris as a whole and its unique culture…

Hey +MoulfritProd I will be in Paris for the first time soon, and these directions are great. The video really gives me a great visual for how to get there. Many thanks. I took the time to type out the directions from your video so I could follow off-line, and wanted to post them here if anyone else needs. How to get to Jim Morrison's grave at the cemetery "Le Pere Lachaise" in Paris: - Entrance to Cemetery on Boulevard de Menilmontant, at the end of Rue de La Roquette. - (The two closest metro are Pere Lachaise and Philippe Auguste, both on the Metro Ligne 2) - Walk up the main alley until the first intersection - At the intersection, make a right turn on Avenue du Puits - Walk towards the administration building on your right - To get a map, make a right and go around the building. - Go through the door to the tourist office and ask for a map. - Once you have the map, go back around the building and continue up (right) - Avenue du Puits turns into Avenue Casimir Perier - Keep walking up to the roundabout (green/grass round about with large square statue - seen in video) - You are now at the road/sign "Rond Point Casimir Perier 14th DIVISION" bear right at the first exit of the round-about and continue to the next intersection, Make a right on to "Chemin Lauriston 16 DIVISION" (as easily seen in the video) - Walk until you get to the "Y" intersection - At the "Y" bear left, You're almost there! - See all those people on the right? A tree and a metal fence will be in front of you, That's where Jim Morrison is resting. - The walk is about 2.7 km / 1.7 mi Sending love

Thanks for the video BUT the distance from the metro station Philippe Auguste, is 5 minutes walk from the metro station to the cemetery gate and 5 more minutes from the cemetery gate to the grave. That's the reality, because I have read here, that the distance is about 3 kilometers from the gate to the grave.

Very good video to help people find the grave of a dead drug addict, who died at 27 years old, probably not someone who should be admired or any kind of role model, unless you're a junkie. His death was presumed to be an "accidental heroin overdose", but I suspect the heroin didn't ACCIDENTLY just magically fall into his arm... I suspect it was INTENTIONALLY put there. What a sad ending for a beautiful and talented person, who was beyond stupid. 27 years old. Wow.
@vicvega3614 Жыл бұрын
Do you always completely tear down addicts? Addiction is no joke,.mental illness is also no joke Jim was definitely suffering from depression and used alcohol to self medicate. Nobody knows what happened that night, not even the rest of the band, chill

@Vic Vega yes, I always make fun of dead junkies, who got what was expectjunkie. Not to act fake surprised at his young suicide. No one forced him to be a hunkie.
@shannonbaribeau4023 Жыл бұрын
I guess you are a FLAWLESS person...you are just PERFECT and have done NO WRONG...EVER...I think NOT. You are a COMPLETE and UTTER IDIOT and VERY JUDGEMENTAL of others. You are the one BEYOND STUPID. Jim has a very high IQ..is very intelligent and when he spoke, just the way he spoke would blow people's minds..Was and surely still is very wise..yes, he made bad choices, but, do you think he could have sung and performed like he did, had the intellect he did, the creativity he had, the poetry writing he produced...DO YOU THINK HE COULD HAVE ACHIEVED ALL THAT, if he was so out of it, like the movie portrays...I DON'T THINK SO. His band members knew him better than anyone and they have said multiple times that Jim was gentle, quiet..everything I say later in this comment..also that the movie assassinated Jim, because that is NOT who Jim really was....so, SHUT THE HELL UP...Like the IDIOT producer Oliver Stone of The Doors movie, you morons only focus on the negative things of Jim. That was not who Jim is. Like every other human in the world, he had his troubled side and he had his good side, but, you just focus on what he did wrong or how he lived his life. Why don't you watch some of the documentaries, listen to interviews, watch videos of the other side of Jim. The gentle side of him, the FRIENDLY side of him, the PEACEFUL side of him, that just loves to be one with nature...going for walks through nature by himself, sitting by a water's edge, just taking in everything around him, the PLAYFUL and CHILDLIKE side of him. So, yeah, he IS someone to look up to, someone to admire. He is HIMSELF...NEVER TRIED OR TRIES to be someone he is NOT..Isn't fake, like you surely are. Everyone in this world has flaws, INCLUDING YOU, especially for being so judgemental of others. Take the time to see the whole picture, instead of focusing on part of it. Jim IS more of a person to be admired, then you could EVER be. I very much admire Jim and I am NOT a junkie...I do not drink, have never smoked cigarettes, never done drugs of any kind and I GREATLY ADMIRE Jim. He is an inspiration to so many. As messed up as Jim could be, people see he is HIMSELF and doesn't try to be anything but himself and people have been changed by Jim Morrison. And, I speak of him in the PRESENT, because, to myself and many, Jim is very much alive. There was NEVER any solid PROOF of him passing and WHY people and especially his family, just took the word of his girlfriend and some Dr., is just beyond me. Especially his family...Who in the hell, would just take a couple people's word, that their son is gone, without wanting to see the proof...who does this? Many people have lived Jim's lifestyle and yet they are still around today. A lot of people like that, cheat death and to me, Jim is one of those people. He is out there somewhere in this world, living the life he always wanted, enjoying the peace and solitude he always has loved and being away from JERKS like yourself. I guess you think you should be admired by people, because you are just so perfect...RIGHT? It is people like you that are so easy to cast stones at others and down them, because YOU ARE INSECURE WITH YOURSELF AND LIFE.When the day comes, that you are PERFECT, well, then let us all hear from you then. Guess what, we will NEVER be hearing from you, because you aren't perfect and never will be...just a PERFECT ASS!!
