One fond memory I have of Scorpius ♏ was flying from Rio de Janeiro to Madrid with Iberia overnight and mid Atlantic there was Scorpius hanging in the sky.I'm not sure how far north we where but guessing over the Equator.Rather a magical moment linking us to the universe.

Here in the Philippines, near the equator, it's easy to spot in the night sky starting as early as February. Anothet myth about it is that it's chasing Orion across the heavens with Sagittarius closing in on it.

These videos remind me of my teen years when we visited my great grandpa's house out in the country. We could see light pollution from the few nearby villages, but it hardly obstructed the dramatic sky- the Milky Way, orbiting satelites, tiny and small meteorites... stuff you didn't see as clearly in the night sky in the suburbs and even worse in the big city. Having a telescope and watching planets was fantastic. But clearly seeing the night sky... you hardly had to have a sky map if you have a good visual memory. All this gives perspective to our place in the universe. Keep up the great videos ! !

As a representative of Scorpius, when the borders are met by the star, Sun, the energy is like a feast! It also meets with Moon, which is like a bath. The energies from each of the 2 light-givers is felt strongly, because Scorpions (ancestors of every Scorpio) have feelers, which detect "mates," also known as zodiacal brothers and sisters, which is why The Holy Bible mentions "only one father" and not the one that gave us life (Matthew 23:9), which is why May 5th is Day of The Dead, the HOLDER of Sun, because Taurus feeds us when Sun passes our constellation. Hades is the ruler of Scorpius, home to the children of Taurus. The lineage is amazing. ❤❤❤ Thank you for this video & opportunity to discuss this. It is very important to me.

If you look at Antares, it is flanked by 2 stars, Their names are Al Niyat (Sigma) to the right and Alniyat (Tau) to the left. They both mean the arteries because Antares is well known as "the heart of the scorpion".

I was looking and looking for Scorpius on my Planisphere and could not find it. Then I flipped it over to the Southern Sky and went, "OH shoot, there it is! I live at 32 degrees latitude so have a 30-40 degree planisphere. It is not going to be high up in the sky at this latitude for very long is it?
@learnthesky2 жыл бұрын
I really think it depends on where you. For me, I cannot see Scorpius well because there is a mountain in the way, but when I view it from my sister's house, I can see the whole thing. I am able to see Scorpius in its entirety at 42 degree latitude north, so you should hopefully be able to see it if you have a clear horizon looking south. Good luck!

What are the days the sun spends in Scorpio
@MountainFisher2 жыл бұрын
Depends year by year because of Solar Progression or the fact that Jan, 16th in 2011 was a Sunday, but in 2012 it was a Monday. There are charts for Astrology, the harbinger of Astronomy for checking dates and days every year. Also HOW many days the Sun is in Scorpio also varies!! In Western astrology it's from October 23 to November 22. But in sidereal time used in Hindu astrology, it's from approximately November 16 to December 15. Big difference eh? BUT WAIT! There is more soothsaying esoterica to help clear OR muddle the 'progression'. IN REAL TIME in 2021 the Sun entered Scorpio on Nov. 23, but was only there until Nov. 30 when it entered Ophiuchus. NOW if you do not count Ophiuchus as a Zodiacal constellation like NASA and astronomers do, the Sun entered Sagittarius on 18th of Dec. 2021. So only true Scorpios were born in a 7 day period or a 7+17=24 day period. So no matter which way you want to count it Astrology is rather mixed up claiming it is 30 days from the wrong day to the wrong day again. How truly esoteric don't you think? Does that answer your question Stephen Brown?

@MountainFisher2 жыл бұрын
Go to the Stellarium website and download the free program onto your viewing device. Scorpius for you is a Winter constellation and I'd guess from your latitudes its viewing times would be about the same as here. June through September, longer if you don't mind getting up early.

Yes, it is sad. There are areas around the globe that have designated dark sky areas. I hope more effort in the future is made to protect the night sky. Light pollution has gotten even worse since some cities are switching to LED lights for street lights.

Why are there so many different images of what Scorpius constellation looks like? Is this one 100 Percent correct? Im doing my research
@learnthesky3 жыл бұрын
I’m am not sure why there are so many interpretations of Scorpius and all the other constellations. The star patterns I use come from the International Astronomical Union (IAU) which is what astronomers use. The IAU designated the patterns in 1929. However, there are so many interpretations of the constellations throughout time and they vary by culture, too.

Antares is one of mine favorite star , in spirituality Antares keeps human heart in excellent health.
