Here’s a tip for anyone, bone mass is resistant to slash and piercing damage so you’re gonna wanna use blunt like an iron mace or the iron hammer. We melted him with four iron maces

I've heard reports it can be bugged from time to time. Might be worth un-equipping and re-logging to see if you have luck in the same areas, or have someone else come join you!

Beat bone mass by myself after dying 3 times earlier, finally got the wish bone and im sitting in my cozy home with a roaring hearth in front of me, i'll head to the mountains later to grab silver once my everything stops hurting from the absolute ass beating i got from everything in the general area of the swamp

Bonemass wasn't any easy fight for you because you were using bows, and he has a massive buff against pierce. You should have used the iron maces you guys were using on those wolves.

Build a tree house, make or dupe a butt load of arrows, put on root set or not and make it so your tree house gives you rested, then fire away from a comfort level of your choice, that's how I murdered the Mass of bone

I think I encountered a VERY annoying bug. Wishbone indicated silver vein. None was there. Continues to indicate even though the whole area is mined down as far as it can go.

You can use the stagbreaker to find silver as well. It hits underground, and will say too hard. I have a question. Has anyone noticed silver spawn patterns? Like is it typically close to drake spawners, etc.?

Dig down deep. Clip the log bench into the side of the mountain. Sit “inside” the mountain. Pan camera around. Silver will be revealed. If it’s not hidden by a boulder. This is how I always do it each character that I start. You can almost always skip loads of iron this way. You just need iron pickaxe for the veins. Rinse and repeat.

You dont even need the wishbone. 5x now I've found silver veins just poking out the ground. And they can be under rocks and in-between trees.

When fighting bonemass the best weapon type is blunt me and my friends used iron mace it was pretty easy

You could build in one of the invincible trees, and shoot arrows at it. Use ice arrows, does an extremely high amount of damage to it.

Here´s a tip for teleporting ores and other stuff as well if you like: make another new game in a new map. Make workbench and some chests there. Anytime you want, log out and store all your stuff in the chests. Log back in your main map and continue looting. Do this many as many times as you like. Then when you´re back at your home base, log out, take all the stuff from the chests in the other map then log back in to your main map. Is this an exploit? Probably. But if you´re like me and hate the pointless running around then this tip is for you.

Ive checked 5 mountains now and havent found a single silver vein. My wishbone is going off for the iron underneath the swamp and the treasures in the meadows biome, but still havent found any silver whatsoever, Any ideas?

We did notice that on smaller mountains, there wasn't any silver veins, but it's completely randomized. Sounds like you've just had bad luck on your world seed!

@@MrAtomicDuck I finally found one on the first mountain that I was on originally, I rechecked it since it was the biggest one, and Im sure I was there before, so either it was bugging and fixed after a restart, or I had unequipped the wishbone and didnt notice. After I rechecked the smaller mountains and found none, though, so it looks like Im off to more boating to find a better one for the rest of my silver

I didn’t have any luck on smaller biomes. Went far away from the spawn, found massive biomes, tons of Drakes spawning. Obsidian etc. No silver, wishbone has never gone off. It’s only been an hour of searching but.... this is ridiculous, I have 80 black metal scraps and no silver? Something is off about the progression here lol

The larger mountains are the most likely to have them, but the map is generated randomly, so these could be anywhere, really!

Built a large smelt base. Do you feel they should allow portal travel with ore?? Cause that could take days to upgrade gear all the traveling by boat if need be. 🤨. You would have to do another forge over and over every location.

Honestly I feel like it's to add some time to the game. Generally speaking we make sure we have a boat at each location and instead do shipping runs. Just how we choose to do it! Personally I wouldn't like to see them allow transfer of ore through portals, it adds time and re-inforces the whole "Build base camps" idea.

I was hoping to have one centralized hub to call home. Oh well. Edit: I thought of an idea for myself....when I find iron and or silver whatever I collect and return to my forward base alive.. I'll in turn go back to my main hub and console spawn in x-amount I found to use at my main hub👌🏼😎

its actually a very good idea of the devs to not allow you port metals... it makes you actually use boats, explore, gather ores into the boat then sail back to your main smelting base... I really like it, even if its time consuming, but this games doesnt feel like forcing me to do things... I can decide whats better, so far I do enjoy sailing a lot

Happy to help there! So you need a cauldron and a fermenter. You'll need to discover copper, fine wood and resin for that. The mead itself is thistle, honey, blood bags (Found on leeches in the swamp) and greydwarf eyes. Each mead requires something different, but you should find the stuff to make them relatively naturally.

It's just uncommon, not all mountains have it, mostly the larger ones seem to have it. Try checking some larger biomes.

It is possible, as some silver veins protrude from the ground slightly, but this is rare. You're much better off killing Bonemass for the wishbone first.

thres tons of guides how to find silver the NORMAL WAY, but how about alternative ways? how about without a wishbone? for example Im a master of poleaxes and I have zero skills in clubs and shields and I dont even want to waste resources and time just for this bonemass boss so Im hoping to find at least some of the silver for the mace so I can actually kill this stupid bonemass...

To be honest man, the effort it would take you to find silver without a wishbone, it'd be much simpler just to build an iron mace. You can farm huge amounts of iron in a single run, providing you have a larger boat, so you'll soon be replacing any used resources.

I tried to strip mine a mountain, mined half of it, but got no silver, at least I got some resources from it, I could make frost arrows, I guess the game is not designed to be played that way and wants me to kill this bonemass xD I guess my only choice is to cheese it, luckily I have geyser right next to the boss and a big tree.
