I think this has just got to be one the most amazing thing on earth. It's spectacular! Hope to see it in person one day.

It's my favorite thing in the sky, and I LOVE THINGS IN THE SKY. Sunsets, rainbows, the Milky Way, so that's saying a lot :)

Thanks for the great and authentic videos you make! A few years back I went to a wedding in Sister Bay, which is all the way up north in Wisconsin and by pure chance we got to see the nothern lights as well for just a few minutes. It was an unreal and unexpected experience and I loved every second of it. So, thanks for bringing back those memories. Also, Sister Bay is pretty af!

Great video. Was neat to see what AK looks like in off season in winter. Cold but so beautiful and quiet. All to yourselves. Big draw. Glad weather worked and got a nice show! Thanks for the play by play to properly dress for that weather. What sources did you use for the forecasts that were errant? Smart to expect anything! Great and fun video!

For the weather? Yr.no and the one my iPhone pulls which I think is weather.com. Yr.no was more accurate. That one is my fave!

Great video! The nicest ppl own that lodge!! You mention Alaska is the only place to see Northern lights in the US...we see them in MN also MI, Maine...

The only place to reliably see them without a super high KP 😉
@lyndseyliebrecht87552 жыл бұрын
@@Bemytravelmuse you should have said “only place to see them without a high KP index” then. because as someone who has seen them in Vermont I deadpanned into an imaginary camera like I was in the office when you said that

Awesome video!! You definitely hit on all the important points. I went up to Fairbanks for a G2 geomagnetic storm and unfortunately the skies were hazy. So glad you got to see it in clear skies.😁

Oh man so rough when you know the lights are going crazy but there’s too much cloud cover to see them! Such a gamble

I'm going to Fairbanks in the end of January for a week. Cross my fingers that I will have clear skies when I arrived.

Welcome to Alaska.......where hardly anyone is around and moose are your best friend or worse nemesis. I LOVE IT HERE!! Catching the lights really is a matter of chance. Fairbanks is your best bet and yes, -30 degrees is COLD. Tonight is the night if you want to fly to Fairbanks. KP 4+ on the way.

You can definitely see them in the northern states of the lower 48 when the KP is higher, I've seen them at least a hundred times in my life in Northern Minnesota
