2:17 Partially true. I used to have an Epidemic Sound account and you cannot use their music or their sound effects on new videos AFTER your membership has ended. However you can keep them on your videos you ALREADY published BEFORE you ended your membership. I used to use an Epidemic Sound song on my outro clip and after ending my membership, I used (without even thinking about it) that same song on my outro again, and sure enough within hours, I got a copyright claim from Epidemic Sound. I had to delete that video and re render the whole video with a new outro song from the FREE KZbin Music Library.

Thanks for sharing this. But I'm amazed how Epidemic able to link their subscribers to particular KZbin creator. If you subscribe to Epidemic would you need to declare on which KZbin channel you would use it?

For the Sounds effects, how can they know it's their sounds effect? Like it's a couple seconds sounds in a whole video, and it can be anyone else SFX. So if you download some and use them after in some other video (the SFX), will you still get copyright claim somehow?

Thats the way how they earn money huh! Forcing you to keep being subscribed while it is not fair, you already paid for something and then you should be able to use it for ever as you did buy it. Thats actually the reason why i always had doubt to use epidemic sound when i read their strict rules like, only one channel , only 3 channel etc..

The advice to take away from this video is strictly only use copyright free music AND sounds. Getting a copyright strike is really bad and you really want to do everything you can to avoid it.

Epidemic sound seems nice but for now I'll stick to KZbin audio library cause I'm not monetized yet and also the youtube audio library is not that bad cause I have used their sound effects and will continue to do so and they have great music for background music. But yeah thank you for sharing the tips..especially layering sound effects..i did think of it once but never tried doing it.

I think you all need to go into the details of epidemic. What are the risks/downsides? If I stop my subscription, will all my videos get flagged? If my videos get stale, then I still have to pay? I think I saw that you can buy music, but it was $500 for the song I picked. Not enough info to make me feel comfortable with this.

I love their music and I registered for the 30-day trial. I am downloading music as I love it and saving it in my desktop. The scenario is that I only post every Sunday so that will be maximum of 8 music files (in case I use 2 music types pee video). These guys promote epidemic sound only because they get affiliate comission. I don't like epidemic sound as they are very greedy. I also just read on some comments that you can use only the music for the videos before ending your subscriptions, if you end your subscriptions and use their music on your new videos, then epidemic sound claims copyright on your new video ! Obviously your youtube channel is linked to epidemic sound as well.

You said it was "okay" to pull sound effects from other channels, when your channel was new and wasn't making money. So to you, violating copyright law only matters if you get caught. No. The reason it's wrong to violate copyright is because you're taking someone else's product and using it without compensating them. The fact that you can get away with it doesn't make it right. I'm a new subscriber to your channel, but this moral and legal corruption on your part, combined with your failure to respond to the commenter who got copyright claimed for using Epidemic, is causing me to unsubscribe. It's becoming pretty obvious anyway that your videos are mostly thinly-disguised ads for your sponsors.
